The town itself has pubs and restaurants on its doorstep, though Phoenix House works equally well as a base for cooking at home. Train and bus connections fan out to surrounding villages and across to Europe.

The property sleeps eight across four bedrooms: a double and three further rooms with smaller beds. Downstairs, the living and dining space opens via sliding doors onto a private patio garden with furniture and a barbecue. The kitchen is fully fitted for home cooking, with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, there is one bathroom with a bath and shower. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. On-site parking accommodates two cars. The house is non-smoking.

A travel cot and highchair are available. One dog is welcome.
