Shepherds Hut

Photo: Luxury Shepherds huts Smeeth Kent

The High Weald is minutes away on foot, and Tenterden's antique shops and restaurants are just three miles off. This shepherd's hut sits on the owner's land in a quiet spot near small villages with pubs and shops, yet the M20 motorway is ten miles distant if you need to reach London, the Channel ports or the major shopping centres around Bluewater. Ashford itself has a designer outlet and fast rail links to the capital and Paris.

Inside is a single open space that serves as kitchen, dining and living area, with a sofa bed and proper double bedroom through the back. A shower room and electric heating complete the layout. The kitchen has a hob, combined microwave and grill, and full-size fridge and freezer for self-catering. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity are provided, and there is parking for one car on site. The hut is detached, so you have the whole place to yourselves.

Outside, a sitting area with garden furniture and a barbecue overlooks the rear garden. A bridlepath runs at the end of the drive for country walks, and local footpaths connect to the wider Weald landscape—good for cycling too. The property is for couples, families and holidaymakers; smoking is not permitted.

Both these huts are outstanding. Perfect host goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. I couldn't recommend these enough for a peaceful getaway. I have stayed twice once in February where buckhurst was made up for valentines, very cozy. 2nd in mountbatern July, which was just perfect. Before I left we have booked again ready for another peaceful lovely weekend. Goes above and beyond to make your stay a memorable one. Thank you for your kindness and the care you put into making our weekends so perfect.

Found this little beauty! Absolutely a hidden gem! So peaceful and away from the rat race of normal life! A small hum from the motorway reminds you of a modern life while being remote enough to switch off! Perfect for a little “you” time with family or friends or on your own! I would highly recommend this perfect place. Also nothing is too much trouble for a super host.

I’ve been fortunate to stay in both of the huts, the setting is so tranquil and gives you the opportunity to be mindful, and recharge, whilst having all the luxuries of the hut. Already planning my next visit definitely a go to destination for a calm and tranquil retreat in the country. Thankyou for hosting us superb experience
