What guests say
Lodges are beautifully kept and very clean. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. The grounds are well managed, with plenty of walks and bits to explore and outdoor games are left out for all ages. Food from the restaurant is delicious and well prepared and the bar has a lovely atmosphere, especially when the live music is on.

I was lucky to stay for a couple days as I was working in the area. My stay at The Gleaneagles Hideaway Lodge was perfect. It was spacious, cosy, and beautifully maintained, with stunning surroundings that made it feel like a real countryside escape. I especially loved the peaceful atmosphere, comfortable interiors, and excellent leisure facilities. The Gleneagles Hideaway at Ducally country estate.

I stayed here with my parents for my mother’s 70th. I was tempted to go three stars due to the bar staff being friendly and helpful. Aside from that, I have to say I’m disappointed. Here’s a summary of what happened and how I felt: - When we checked in, I asked the guy on reception if they were showing the play-off final in the bar. There was no one in the bar at the time. He just said “I don’t know, you’d have to check with someone in there.” I left it and then waited until I’d checked in to my room to ring down again. There was no option to ring the bar directly so I asked the question again. Once again I was fobbed off with a non-committal answer along the lines of “There’s nothing I can do.” This time, I pushed back and said “Well can you not check with someone? Is there still no one at the bar?”. After a brief period on hold, he said “I’ve checked and they can put that on for you”. The situation was resolved but I shouldn’t have had to ask three times. - The room itself was spacious and the bathroom is nice enough but the carpet is dated and the phone looked like it was about 20 years old with no options to call down to the reception, bar or leisure centre. Therefore, I’m not really sure what the purpose of the phone is in this day and age. - My room had these thick thermal curtains which made the room very hot through the night. I woke up at 1am dripping with sweat, and I only had a t shirt and some shorts on. I couldn’t get back to sleep for a couple of hours. I had to open one of the sash windows halfway, take my top off and sleep with only half of the duvet over me. Only then did I manage to get back to sleep. - The check-out time was very early (10am) but I didn’t book the rooms so I don’t know if that’s standard policy. I also couldn’t request a refund for this reason. - I asked for the WiFi at the bar and wasn’t given it but that’s a pretty minor issue in the grander scheme of things. - The blonde haired woman at the leisure centre (whose name I can’t remember) was very helpful and friendly. Overall, not great and there are a few things that need to be addressed if you want to provide what I would consider a high-quality guest experience.
