What an absolute gem of a place this is. Our group booked 4 of the lodges for our daughter's wedding on the banks of nearby Loch Garten. We were all so impressed with the quality and standard of the lodges. There is no cutting corners with Loch Garten Lodges, they were all in pristine condition and contained everything anyone could need for a really comfortable stay. Literally across the road from the lodges were trails into the wonderful Abernethy forest where we spent many an hour just exploring and walking the different trails. Loch Garten itself and the Osprey Centre were a 20-25 minute walk away. All of us could have stayed much longer. The hosts, Gavin and Elspeth, were excellent and went above and beyond to ensure that our daughter's wedding was as perfect and magical as it could be, including making contingency plans in the event of adverse weather. Their suggestion of a private caterer, local chef Chris McCall of The Penny Bun, was inspired and we had a sumptuous and memorable meal for the 9 of us in one of the lodges surrounded by the beautiful views of the mountains and forests. I honestly cannot praise this place enough. We will definitely be returning! Thank you so much for your part in helping us create special memories that we will cherish forever.

We had a lovely week staying in siskin lodge set in this quiet and well maintained site. The hosts, Gavin and Elspeth were welcoming and friendly. The lodge was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well equipped. The welcome pack was much appreciated. There's a great shower and comfy bed. The lounge area has comfy sofas and looks out onto the decking area and the countryside beyond with plenty of wildlife to see. Siskins, chaffinches, greenfinches, great tits, wood pigeons to name but a few. We were visited regularly by a crazy pheasant who would try to attack the patio door when he saw his own reflection. We also saw some hares in the meadow and a red squirrel finally made an appearance just before we departed for home. Good area for walking, fishing and photography. The 2 lochs walk in the rspb nature reserve and the walks around uath lochan at Insh are relatively easy and enjoyable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we come back to the area.

We had a wonderful time away at the Loch Garten Lodges with our two little girls aged 20 months and 4 months. The accommodation was brilliant and had everything we needed for our family, with high chairs, cots and more. The decking was brilliant. Our toddler was able to run around, see the birds and red squirrels while being safely ‘fenced in’. Gavin and Elspeth were great, very friendly and helpful. They gave us lots of great suggestions of what to do nearby. The location is perfect for lovely walks, and just a short distance to Aviemore, the wildlife park, landmark and much more. We had a great holiday and will definitely be coming back.

Fabulous lodges in a fabulous location with fabulous hosts Gavin and Elspeth. We stayed in the Siskin lodge and were visited by Siskins every day! Ideally situated for taking in the local wild life - lochs and woodlands galore and Ospreys at the end of the road! And great for cycling with a variety of easily accessible tracks allowing you to access everything that the area has to offer. We will definitely be back.
