Granite Cottage

Built over a century ago, Granite Cottage is a traditional detached house in Boat of Garten, a village at the heart of Cairngorms National Park. Mountains, woodland and wildlife surround the property, which has four bedrooms and one bathroom spread across two floors. Downstairs there's a living room with a woodburner and Freeview TV, a dining room with an open fire, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—two electric ovens, a hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Two bedrooms are on the ground floor; two more upstairs. One has a ¾ double bed, another bunk beds for children, a third a full double, and the fourth two single beds. The bathroom upstairs has a bath and walk-in shower. Oil heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the woodburner can be bought locally.

The cottage has its own lawned garden with a patio, seating and a barbecue. Three cars can park on site. A tumble dryer is in the porch, and the property can accommodate a cot and highchair for younger children. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.

The village itself has a shop, pub, restaurant and café within walking distance. A steam railway, cycle track and children's play area are nearby. For activity days further afield, Loch Morlich offers watersports and the RSPB reserve at Loch Garten is close by; the Cairngorm ski resorts and Landmark Centre are within 45 minutes' drive.
