Lazy Duck

As soon as we arrived we relaxed. The stillness was awesome. Just the birds singing. All the instructions we received enabled us to check in to The Homestead without any issues. It's a gorgeous wee place made for two. With all you need for your break. Just bring some things you like to do to chill. If you forget your book/pack of cards/torch etc no problem there are some in your accommodation. The box bed was really comfy and very cozy. The loo is an adventure and you soon get used to it. What a view from the loo too! I watched a deer one morning! We enjoyed walks around the woods and the poets bench view is stunning. They have really put a lot of thought into it, even a quiet space to contemplate/pray/meditate or if you can work remotely there's a space for that too. A wee shop with nice treats and the cutest sauna. Worth every penny for an almost off grid experience.

We had a wonderful three night stay in the Duck's Nest cabin. Experienced total relaxation while disconnecting from the hustle and bustle. Hubby loved the ritual of setting up the wood burning stove. My favourite was the outdoor shower and stargazing from bed. Beautiful location, lots of walks and views. Matt and Roger you have an amazing setup, thanks for letting us share it. Can't wait to return, Sandra and Ian.

We stayed in the Traveller’s Cottage over February half term and absolutely loved it. The setting is really special, a short walk to the moor with snowy mountain views — just magical. Really peaceful too; the only sounds at night were the owls. The cottage itself has everything you need. Cosy and comfortable. The wood-burning stove and abundance of firewood were a highlight. It’s private if you want to switch off completely, yet only a short stroll into Nethy Bridge. The hosts were super friendly and helpful, suggesting local scenic walks which were brilliant — much appreciated. A friend recommended this place to us and we’re very glad they did. We’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful base to explore the Cairngorms, or simply somewhere to cosy up and do very little. We’re hoping to return soon. A gem.

We recently spent three wonderful nights at the Lookout cabin, and it was an absolutely perfect winter getaway! We were incredibly lucky with the weather and even got to see our first snow of the season. The cabin itself is incredibly cozy and had absolutely everything we needed. We especially loved the great selection of board games and our morning routine of setting up the fire. The location is lovely — peaceful, quiet, and nestled in beautiful woods. Having a sauna on-site was a fantastic bonus to warm up in. Even though it feels wonderfully secluded, there is still lots to do in the surrounding area. Thank you, Matt and Roger. Can’t wait to come back!
