About The Tytherleigh Arms

Rolling Devon countryside surrounds Tytherleigh, the small hamlet near Axminster where The Tytherleigh Arms makes its home. It's the sort of setting that suits a proper country pub-hotel, with outdoor seating to make the most of the surrounding fields and lanes, and free on-site parking for those arriving by car.

The rooms here are comfortable and modern, each with an en-suite bathroom, and a few nice extra touches such as fresh milk and homemade cookies left for guests. Family rooms are available, and there's free WiFi and drinks available in room throughout. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times are flexible.

Food is very much a strength of the place, with a restaurant and bar serving beautifully presented dishes - the Sunday lunch, steak and duck are particular favourites among regulars. Breakfast is included each morning, and the atmosphere throughout is warm and welcoming, helped along by attentive staff. Beyond the pub itself, there's a golf course nearby along with other pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach for those exploring the area.

Wow! What an experience, my partner booked 2 nights at the Tytherleigh Arms for my 30th birthday as a surprise. The rooms definitely deserve a 4* rating, modern, comfortable, we even had a view of the chicken coup, which made are stay a little more special being from a farm background. The rooms remained cool and well ventilated, even in this 25°C heat. Fan provided to! Very modern, tea and coffee provided with a nice selection, fresh milk and homemade cookies with free bottled water which was all refreshed after our first night, along with the beds and bathroom being cleaned and hoovered etc whilst we was out exploring. We dined in the restaurant for the first night, and my gosh! You guys definitely deserve the 2 rosettes you have been awarded, as the service for outstanding!! Fabulous wine selection, from start to finish, my partner ordered the steak which was to die for, with the best peppercorn sauce we have ever tasted!! I ordered the duck starter, which again was out of this world delicious, and then the haddock and chips for main, which was probably the best chippy I’ve ever had! All of our food was bought out in a timely fashion, presented beautifully. From start to finish our dining experience was superb! The staff are all super friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome and right at home, everyone had a smile on their faces! We ended our meal with some free sticky toffee fudge on a plate with Happy 30th Birthday spelt out on the plate in chocolate, my partner did not request this gesture, it was done out of surprise by the staff themselves and really made my evening! I wish we could of tipped more than 10% as you all deserved it!! The Tytherleigh Arms in located inbetween Axminster and Chard, this was a perfect location for us and why my partner booked here. As we were flying out of Dunkeswell on day 1 for a flying lesson, and then visited The Tunnel for a shooting experiance, across the road from the pub is a cute little farm shop / cafe and a vintage antiques market. 100% we recommend visiting The Tytherleigh Arms, even just for a meal!

What a spectacular Sunday lunch! Great tasting food, never rushed, good amount of staff on duty. We had three dogs with us , two of which were labs and they accommodated us beautifully, giving us a table with enough room to pop them out of the way so as not to disturb other folk dining . For 6 of us a very decent £42.00 each including drinks. We shall definitely come again.

Wow ! I stayed three nights with mom & dad and we were lucky enough to have a meal at the restaurant on the first night of our stay. Food amazing (Like nothing I have ever eaten) The staff were extremely polite and attentive. Our rooms were perfect for what we needed. Beds very comfortable, overstocked with tea, coffee & goodies (how nice to have fresh milk with my morning coffee.) - I also loved the waterfall shower! Thank you Mark & Rosie for making our stay so enjoyable and for going the extra mile for my mom & dad.
