Red Lion Corner is thoroughly equipped for self-catering: the kitchen has a gas cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer; there's a washing machine in the utility room; central heating keeps things warm; and Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. The enclosed garden has a paved sitting area with furniture and a barbecue for outdoor meals. One dog stays free.

The house spreads across three floors. Downstairs holds a living room with a fireplace and open fire, a separate dining room, and a breakfast room overlooking the garden. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath and shower; the top floor has two single beds in the third bedroom. The steps to the top floor are steep. On-road parking is available, and a pub is within a mile.

The location is the real draw: Red Lion Corner sits on Lavenham's Market Place, a 500-year-old wool town in Suffolk, with direct views of the famous Tudor Guildhall. The Guildhall, Little Hall and the wool church are all within five minutes' walk. Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury are reachable by bus; with a car you can reach Constable Country, Southwold or the Stour Valley. No smoking inside.
