The Tryst

Photo: The Tryst

Sudbury and its surrounding villages offer independent shops, galleries and restaurants alongside easy reach of the Suffolk coast. The Tryst sits among this landscape as one of the area's oldest homes—a Grade I listed timber-framed house from the 1450s, retaining its inglenook fireplace, wattle and daub walls, and the heavy oak beams that define its character. The interior marries historic detail with genuine comfort: three bedrooms (one single, two kingsize) and two bathrooms serve five guests across two floors, while the ground floor brings together a living room with woodburner, separate dining room and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking.

Underfloor heating and electricity are included, along with bed linen, towels and wi-fi. The Aga, dishwasher and other essentials mean you're not roughing it despite the age of the structure. An enclosed rear garden with terrace and seating provides outdoor space, and one well-behaved pet is welcome. The house is yours alone for the duration of your stay. Arriving after 4pm and departing before 9am are the standard timings. No smoking indoors.

The Tryst is a fabulous to stay and takes you back in time and every thing is spot on as soon as you open the door, very close to Lavenham main Street 3 minute walk. Close by are some great restaurants with really good food.
