About Waldegrave Farm
Waldegrave Farm isn't really a campsite at all – it's a working farm with a handful of remote pitches scattered across its meadows and hedgerows, where a little brook meanders through and wildlife thrives. The whole setup is designed to make you feel like you're the only ones here, even if a few other groups are dotted about elsewhere on the land. Amenities are deliberately minimal: running water, yes, but no toilets or showers on site. This is wild camping for those who want genuine seclusion and don't mind being self-sufficient. Campfires and barbecues are encouraged, and the countryside around Lawshall and Hartest offers excellent walking and cycling.
Historic Bury St Edmunds, picture-perfect Lavenham and Long Melford are all within 15 minutes by car, while Cambridge lies under an hour away. Closer to hand, you'll find country pubs, a local vineyard, stately homes and lovely gardens – though really, the appeal here is doing very little at all.

We had an excellent stay here for two nights while in the area photographing a wedding. It’s like being welcomed home by family to a cosy bedroom and a huge bathroom. Great breakfast, very flexible hosts, great chats and lovely dogs!

We were meant to only stay camping for one night but ended up staying longer as the camping area was so tranquil, clean and peaceful. The ideal camping spot for some serious peace and zen. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and we can't wait to come back again. Absolutely stunning spot!

Camping experience this weekend. Lovely owner for meeting and greeting. Directed us to where we could camp and knock if we need anything. Location was stunning, with plenty of nature to occupy us. Will return and totally recommend for self sufficient camping 👍

If you're looking for a secluded, private, nature-surrounded, basic pitch for camping - this is ideal. Only an outside water tap is available near the entrance but this was as expected (note - no toilets). We had a great campfire too.
