Very beautiful place. I especially enjoyed wandering through the gorgeous colourful gardens. Also lovely parkland and wooded areas for great walks and a play park to keep children happy. A great cafe with friendly staff too

I've visited Crathes many, many times at different times of year and it is always beautiful. However, today on a sunny day in June the walled gardens were nothing short of spectacular - a feast for the eyes! Absolutely immaculate too with not a weed to be seen! Magnificent 😍

An absolutely fantastic place to visit, we took a private ride from Edinburgh and it was worth it! My family is part of the Burnett of Leys Clan so this was a must for us…. The castle is fantastically well preserved, and the gardens are simply amazing…

Stunning! 16th Century Scottish history in stone - spiral staircases, painted ceilings, the Burnett family story distilled, original furnishings and weapons and then.. the miraculous garden!! Accessible through a railway carriage lookalike only with a special code, it's a riot of geometric and serpiginous lawns, beds and paths, and a huge range of plants from Hilliers' and other world leading nurseries. Topped and tailed with lunch and tea in the bright, spacious café, our visit on a brilliantly sunny May afternoon was a joy.
