What diners say
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A True Gem on Northcote Road! We dropped in on a whim and were so grateful they could accommodate us at the last minute. The decor is fun and vibrant, creating a fantastic atmosphere from the moment you walk in. We decided to go à la carte, and it was a sequence of hits: Crispy Duck Salad: We shared this to start—it was the perfect balance of zesty, sweet, and crunchy. Shepherd’s Pie: A total classic. It had an unbelievably wholesome, rich flavor that felt like a warm hug. Monkfish & Prawn Kerala Curry: This was absolutely beautiful. The blend of spices and the aroma were delicate yet impactful, and the portions were very generous. The Highlight: Outstanding Service What truly elevated our evening was Shannon. What a star she is! Despite the restaurant being incredibly busy, she made us feel like we were her entire focus. She was fun, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Shannon is a massive credit to The Ivy chain—it’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism with such a warm, personal touch. Highly recommended for the food, but definitely ask for Shannon if you want the five-star experience!

This place is gorgeous! The deco and the atmosphere make you feel like you are in another era. I booked The Ivy for my birthday and went with my cousin. The service was brilliant, Andrea our waitress was excellent, she was attentive, listen carefully and provided a high level of service even though it was her first day. The food selection is great, a lot of dishes to choose from and tasted excellent. They bought me a profiterole with a candle at the end, which was a lovely surprise. I will go back again.

Review in March 26 - I visited the restaurant again thinking of the great food they had when I went there a month before but I was sorely disappointed. The menu has changed. The crab and watermelon starter was vile. Sorry to say but it feels like the chef in this Ivy is trialing food on us and the winner actually goes to be served at the main restaurant. I told them and they changed my starter no questions asked. The starter I got was also a mere 2* food, so not sure what is going on in their kitchen. Now- on to the staff. Seriously, in my time the waiters were supposed to be friendly smiling and engaging. Our waiters were hollow, like ghosts, and that’s the right words for them. Not sure if this is the new Gen Z thing or what. I had to in invest my time and energy to pull a smile out of them - of course, I failed. Saying that there was a Portuguese receptionist Svietlana (or something similar) who was absolutely great. She chatted to us, made us feel welcome, and it was clear she was coming from those legacy type waiting staff that you’re missing. Overall- I will not be going to this restaurant again. 💫✨💫 Review in Feb 26 - Overall this was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is what you should come for as well as the food. It’s cosy, pretty and comfortable. The food is superb, from every menu (the cheap and the expensive one). The service was good too, although i noticed that the clientele in the restaurant were on average in their 60ties, and the staff average age was in their twenties (I think). The staff (I engaged with 5 separately) were extremely serious with straight faces which led me to think that they couldn’t wait to leave their shift. That’s just how I felt but the comments from my guests were similar. Perhaps a smile or two wouldn’t be amiss.

The Ivy Northcote Road Brasserie is a fantastic place to enjoy a meal in a beautifully designed setting. The interior is elegant, stylish, and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The food was delicious, with a menu that offers something for everyone, and the desserts were particularly impressive. Everything was well presented and full of flavour. Combined with attentive service and a relaxed atmosphere, it makes for a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again.
