About Lower Gate Glamping
Set on a 24-acre East Sussex farm that's been in the same family for over 50 years, Lower Gate Glamping invites guests to share one of the owners' favourite corners of their land. The bell tent paddock is wonderfully secluded, with sweeping views over the Netherfield valley and ample opportunities to spot deer, buzzards and other wildlife. A fairy trail winds through the grounds, and you're welcome to explore the woods, stream and gardens at leisure.
Each bell tent stands on its own wooden deck and comes with a kingsize bed dressed in luxury bedding, two single futons, a wood-burning stove, tea and coffee kit, fridge and solar charging pack. Private bathrooms feature hot showers and flushing loos. Outside, you'll find a gas barbecue, firepit with logs supplied, and seating for starlit evenings. Breakfast hampers can be pre-ordered, or pick up supplies in Battle, just five minutes' drive away.

What visitors say
A fabulous glamping site, really luxurious with M&S bedding, a large hot water shower in your own private and warm bathroom, solar lights and even a little power bank. Alan and Marian are warm and friendly and almost invisible but their caring nature is evident in all the little thoughtful touches like children’s books, solar bedside lights, pretty crockery, cleverly covered log baskets, and lots of seating. The surroundings are divine, such a pleasure to sit on the deck with a bacon buttie in the morning, or to admire the sunset with a glass of wine by the log burner in the evening. Amazing - we will be recommending to all our friends.

What a lovely glamping stay! We had a great stay, the tents were beautiful and perfectly equipped. It was me with two under 5's, and they loved sleeping in a tent for the first time! The cooking area is perfectly setup with lovely clean toilets / shower. Will be back for sure!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this very special place. Everything we needed was provided and more. It was a beautiful site with uninterrupted views of the countryside from the tent and decking; we watched the sunset whilst toasting marshmallows. The private woodland was a treat to explore with our dog. The breakfast hampers were perfect with delicious local produce. There are plenty of interesting places to visit nearby (Battle is just a 20min walk) but with such a peaceful & well equipped site you may find it hard to leave!

We loved our 2 night stay at Lower Gate Glamping. The facilities were great, both within the tents, and outside with clean washrooms, and cooking areas. The hosts supply delicious breakfast materials at a nominal cost; we had leftovers for dinner as well! Great views over Sussex hills, and its a good base to explore the nearby countryside. This was a wonderful way to introduce our little one to some (very comfortable) camping!
