About Durham House
Durham House suits those after a slower-paced coastal stay rather than a big hotel experience - walkers, anglers and couples exploring the Jurassic Coast will find it a comfortable base in the village of Beer. The B&B format keeps things simple and personal, with 24 hour reception on hand whatever time you arrive.
Rooms are furnished with antiques and each comes with its own en suite bathroom, giving the place a homely, characterful feel rather than a chain-hotel one. Drinks are available in the room, free WiFi covers the property, and mornings start with a cooked breakfast to set you up for the day. Parking is available nearby, though it comes at an extra charge, so it's worth factoring into your plans if you're arriving by car.
Beer itself offers easy access to golf, fishing and watersports, plus walking and cycling routes along the coast, and there are pubs, restaurants and other eateries within reach for evenings out. It's a fitting spot for anyone keen to spend their days outdoors and return to something quiet and traditional at night.

Spotless room, perfect location, great breakfast. Very accommodating hosts and definitely a place to return to.

I’ve been staying in several hotels, inns, and beds and breakfast in Devon as I hike the southwest path. This has been by far my favorite. The host and hostess are absolutely lovely, just genuinely kind people who want to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. The room was attractive and comfortable with a well working shower (not in the case in some places I’ve stayed!) and breakfast was delicious. I wish I had planned another night in Beer.

After arriving yesterday and leaving our car in the long stay car park about 3 mins away, I've slept like a baby! The room is very comfortable, twin room as I'm here with a friend, albeit a bit compact. It has: ensuite, tv, mini fridge, large wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside drawers, lamp, charging unit, full length mirror, shampoo, hand wash, towels, shower, basin, tea/coffee/sugar, mini kettle, so in short it may be compact but it's well serviced. Lovely crisp white bedding and comfy bed. Location is great, no view from our window unfortunately but so quiet. Off for breakfast shortly, I have very high hopes!

Just stayed here for the second time. Nette and Colin are brilliant hosts, warm and engaging and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are well equipped, clean, comfortable and the breakfast is wonderful. Would highly recommend and would definitely recommend A+++
