About Stormont Hotel

Belfast's Upper Newtownards Road is home to the Stormont Hotel, a 106-room property with free on-site parking and easy access into the city, including Castle Court Shopping Centre and Central Station. It's a straightforward base for visitors wanting a comfortable stay without the higher prices of a city-centre address.

Rooms are supported by a lift, porter services and luggage storage, and the hotel also has a garden, meeting rooms and a wedding venue, making it as suitable for events and business trips as for leisure breaks. The restaurant and bar are a particular draw, with the Sunday carvery singled out for its wide choice of starters, mains and desserts, including gluten-free and vegetarian options, often served alongside live music. Staff are consistently described as helpful and the overall atmosphere as welcoming, though some guests have noted an automatic service charge added to bills.

Beyond the hotel, the surrounding area offers nearby pubs, restaurants and entertainment, with breakfast and free WiFi covering the basics during a stay. It's a hotel built around solid food, friendly service and practical extras rather than flashiness.

My daughter and I went for afternoon tea today Saturday. Everything perfect, food delicious, and plentiful. All staff very polite and professional from we went through the door until leaving. Got seated beside the wood stove which we appreciated on this chilly day. General manager Eamon came to check that everything was to our satisfaction, we praised the way everyone looked after us, and he spent a few minutes to chat with us which was a lovely touch. One of the youngest staff Josh mostly attended to us and such a lovely lad, other staff including bar staff too but sorry I didn't catch their names. We both had a lovely afternoon and will be back again, also recommend their mother's day afternoon tea we attended last year. Thank you to all.

Really amazing hotel, with really friendly staff. They really wanted to make you feel at home. From check in to check out the whole hotel, where all so helpful and wanted to assist in any way they can. Have to give a shout to Phil from the front desk, he was extremely helpful and professional. He also wanted to help in any way shape or form, definitely think he is the next General Manager for the Hastings brand.

We went for the buffet today. This was our first time and we were very impressed. Great selection and food was delicious. All selections were well displayed. My husband was delighted with the desserts selection. All the staff were lovely and very helpful especially all the young staff. We will definitely come back.

My mother and father visited this Saturday passed and haven't stopped raving about the afternoon tea service since! They had a chat with the very accomodating manager Eamonn and felt incredibly welcomed by him and all the staff. They have had many afternoon tea experiences over the years and have rated yours the best! High praise indeed!
