What diners say
We’ve heard lots and lots about this place so it was about time we visit. Two of us ordered breakfast, and I had the penne pesto. Being a pasta pesto lover, it felt like a must to try the well renowned pesto. The pesto was great and rich in garlic which I loved, the pasta cooked to perfection and the portion was a good size. What did bother me a bit was the amount of water and oil that the pasta was covering a large amount of the plate bottom. If you are sensitive to a lot of fat/oil, this dish may not be great if this is how it is normally served. The garlic bread let me down a bit. Whilst I understand that the quality of olive oil was great based on the very rich olive taste, the olive taste was the only thing I could notice when eating the bread. The garlic I barely noticed unless physically looking at the pieces. Finally, the service was good most of the time. We didn’t have to wait too long despite the queue and the man that I assume is Pelicci himself was great. However, the shorter lady, whilst she was sweet, she did forget a few items on our table as well as other tables. I’d love to come back again to try a breakfast.

It was my first visit here. I was walking by and saw the great atmosphere from the street and felt like staying for breakfast. This place is everything London has sadly lost in hospitality. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted so warmly that you instantly feel at home. The food is fantastic. The sandwiches, toasted in those old-school grilled sandwich makers, have that nostalgic flavour you just can’t replicate. I ordered the mozzarella, fresh tomato, olive oil and pesto ciabatta and completely forgot to take a photo of it because it looked so damn delicious that I lost all focus and started eating immediately. The English breakfast platters are absolutely huge, the cappuccino is perfectly made, and the staff are incredibly efficient while still making everyone feel welcome. The cool merch is a lovely bonus too! Places like this are becoming rare, and that’s exactly why E. Pellicci is so special and they just won another loyal customer. PS: I couldn’t resist buying their affordable piece of pie!

This was my first time trying an English breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was huge for me, but every bite was worth it. The owner was so hospitable and friendly, felt more like visiting a friend than eating at a restaurant. I also happened to come on another customer’s birthday, and the staff sang a birthday song for her, which made the atmosphere even warmer and cozier. Everything here feels so welcoming and comfortable. I’ll definitely come back to this restaurant again. NOTE, they only take cash. If you forget, they’re very understanding and will let you go withdraw some cash. There’s a post office nearby so dont worry

Must do London experience. British staples alongside delicious Italian food. We had the full English which was amazing, but the stand out was the breaded chicken and creamy broccoli. What blew our socks off was the service, the owner took the time to chat with us and all servers were caring and attentive (making sure we didn’t order too much food). Highly recommend! We love to see an East London institution living up to its name.
