Good pub to visit! The walls are exposed brick, or cracked plaster, the woodwork is sanded back or exposed and just a little rough. Electrics are exposed and it all adds up to that very urban Hackney circa 2010?theme which was so prominent a few years back. There are no handpulls on the bar, just a line up of 10 taps behind it. It's craft beer central here. You won't find Stella or Fosters, but Anspach and Hobday, Five Points, and something called Umbrella Paloma were all available on my visit. The pint glasses are ice chilled and there are tankards over the bar, although I'm guessing they're decorative. Full credit to the barman, who was very chatty and happy to dish out the tasters. A good pub indeed, just very different in all respects to its neighbours. This little triangle is what makes London such a great place to drink. The variety of pubs in such close proximity is a real treat.

Beautiful bar, wonderful people. Celebrated my 26th birthday here on a Friday night in June and had more than a few guests commenting on the creative (and very well-priced) cocktails, generous snacking spreads and tasteful interiors. The whale soundtrack in the bathrooms only added to the appeal! Special thanks to John and his colleagues, who were attentive throughout the night and kindly accommodated my group of ~25 (at its peak). Will definitely come back, occasion or not.

Fantastic service from Ethan, very entertaining and attentive. Food was fantastic. The bathroom audio is very strange, felt like I was hearing space whale sounds. Not huge on that, but everything else was sick!

despite living around, I’ve been to Sun Tavern for the first time recently for a girls night. We had a very nice time. The cocktails were very nice and affordable. The atmosphere was lovely, full of friendly people.
