What visitors say
Easy to get to and free parking. We didn’t go in the actual house but walked round the extensive and well kept grounds. We also visited the butterfly house, which costs extra. This was quite small but loads of butterflies. Perhaps just a bit pricey (£8 per person) for what it was. We also visited the owls. This was excellent and half the price of the butterflies! We held a couple of owls (one each). You cannot stroke them due to bird flu risks but it was still a great experience. There was also a miniature railway although it does not open until midday ish. Pleasant walk over and along the river with basking red ears terrapins. Oh and the cafe is rather good and reasonably priced too. All in all a very pleasant place to visit, even just the free bits, with optional extra facilities that are generally good value. Would recommend.

Beautiful gardens and lovely walk. Cafe lovely but gets very busy at lunch times. Only niggle was price of a bottle of beer and over £11 for a sandwich. Presented nicely though.

I have been going to Hall Place since I was a child. It’s a beautifully kept set of green spaces from formal to more relaxed. The cafe which overlooks the water caters well for families. The mini train that is run by the local train society on Sundays from Spring to Autumn makes my child’s day each time we see it. The greenhouse current houses a butterfly feature which is magical. All well worth the visit.

Most people don't know/realise that there is a lovely tearoom/visitor centre right on the river. You don't have to book into the restaurant. You can stay warm and snuggly inside on cold days or, when it's sunny, enjoy a riverside table, listening to the weir and watching the wildflower. Honestly, an overlooked local asset and lovely place to visit.
