About Aloft Birmingham Eastside

Aloft Birmingham Eastside suits travellers who want a straightforward, well-run base for work or a short city stay, with 195 rooms spread across six floors just off Woodcock Street. It's the sort of place that covers the practical bases well: air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, family rooms, accessible rooms and free WiFi throughout, plus a lift and laundry service for anyone staying longer than a night or two.

Rooms come with comfortable beds and a clean, modern finish, and breakfast is a genuine highlight, with full English options alongside things like avocado smash. The restaurant and bar on-site cover meals and drinks in room, though the food doesn't always hit the same standard as breakfast. There's also a gym, meeting rooms and business services for anyone travelling for work, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful.

The location puts guests within easy reach of Digbeth, the Bullring and Birmingham city centre, with nearby universities making it a sensible pick for academic visits as well as leisure trips. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment are close by, there's a cycling area for the more active, and pets are welcome. Parking is chargeable and located nearby rather than on-site.

Recently stayed here for one night. Shame no on site car park, but there is a multi story car park a few minutes walk away. Corridor to room could have been cleaner, carpet needed hoovering. Room was tidy and clean but we felt the tea and coffee in the room could have been more plentiful. 3 sachets coffee, two teabags but only two milk pots. Room doors did tend to bang shut so there was some noise late at night. No wardrobe or hanging space for clothes, but lovely big shower with plenty of hot water. The booking included an evening meal and both the food and service were excellent. Ricky one of the waiters was brilliant- attentive, so polite, and such a lovely guy. The other staff members were also polite and helpful. The only downside here was that we were not informed that the meal spend was capped at £50, and although we were not extravagant in what we ate we were then faced on checking out of the hotel, with an unexpected charge. Breakfast was ok, good selection but hot food could have been hotter. Also jams are dispensed by a pump system, however there were no pots to put it in. As such the marmalade which for some reason was very runny, just spread all over my plate - not great.

This is a super Hotel based in the university area of this huge city. Great location great room friendly staff and a really good breakfast. The rooms contain a very comfortable large bed. Clean linen all mod cons big TV and air conditioning. About a 20 min walk from New Street station it is ideally located. Highly recommended. Fabulous.

Overall a really nice hotel, with some nice touches and got a really good price for a half board deal with secret escapes, so can't complain really. If, however, I had been paying full price I wouldn't have been so pleased. Additionally, I didn't report the issues, so didn't give the team a chance to resolve the issues. 1. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell of damp, which I think was the drain. 2. The room was very warm and I couldn't seem to lower the temperature on the thermometer and the windows are not the sort to be opened. The restaurant serving team were a little brisk at times, but overall good and the evening meal at tempo was delicious. The breakfast was probably about 7/10. There was a good selection but the hot options were not fresh. This was probably because we had breakfast 40 minutes before it ended, so if recommend going earlier. Positives: efficient check in staff; beds were comfortable, lovely welcome drinks (flavoured water), pleasant decor, stored my belongings after check-out for the day with no issues. Location: great if you're visiting Aston University, a bit of a walk to the center of Birmingham.

Extremely impressed with my stay here. I usually avoid the city centre when visiting Birmingham, but had a venue booked nearby for a party—so decided to stay here, and I’m really glad I did. I had my dog with me, which was no problem at all, and we were both made to feel very welcome. The room was beautiful—located on the fourth floor with a stunning floor-to-ceiling window. The bathroom was modern with a great shower, and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. Nice big TV as well, which was a bonus. £165 for the whole weekend felt like great value for what you get. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, but the food smelled amazing. Overall, nothing to complain about—one of the best stays I’ve had in Birmingham. Would definitely stay again.
