About Premier Inn Birmingham City Centre Exchange Square
Fifteen floors and 235 rooms make Premier Inn Birmingham City Centre Exchange Square one of the bigger bases in the city, with upper-level Premier Plus rooms giving guests a proper look over the Birmingham skyline. Rooms throughout are clean, well-proportioned and en-suite, with air conditioning, family options and accessible rooms available, plus the usual Premier Inn reliability on comfort.
There's a restaurant and bar on site along with a snack bar and kids' meals, so eating in is straightforward, while breakfast is served each morning for those heading out early. An electric vehicle charge point and 24-hour reception add to the practical side of a stay, and staff are consistently described as helpful with local knowledge of the surrounding streets.
The location puts Bullring, New Street Station and Broad Street all within easy reach, alongside plenty of nearby pubs and restaurants. Parking is not on site but is available at the Millennium Point multi-storey car park on Howe Street, about a seven-minute walk away, though some guests find this arrangement pricier and less convenient than they'd like.
What guests say
A very good stay overall and easily one of the better Premier Inns I’ve used. The hotel feels modern throughout, with clean contemporary decor and surprisingly spacious rooms. The room itself was very quiet, the air conditioning actually worked properly, the shower was reliable with good pressure, and the bed was large and comfortable. The location is also excellent for shopping and city centre attractions, with the Bullring only a short walk away. There are a few drawbacks though. The biggest issue is the lack of on-site parking. The nearest available parking is chargeable and around a 10-minute walk away along a fairly dark and desolate dual carriageway, which didn’t feel especially pleasant late at night. Also not ideal after a long drive. The immediate surrounding area of the hotel also felt a bit rough in places, and my room looked directly onto a rather depressing derelict brutalist office block. Also, as with most Premier Inns, the duvet was far too thick and warm for my liking. Despite those issues, still a solid 4-star stay.

Stayed in this hotel for one night on the 7th floor. The room was up to Premier Inn standards, and we had no complaints regarding cleanliness or the room itself. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had is that if you want to store your bags for a few hours, you are required to make a charity donation—it is not optional. IMO, paying for storage is fine, but since when did a mandatory service fee get labeled as a "charity donation"? We didn't argue and paid it, but we witnessed another guest express their disappointment, only to be told the same thing.

I had a fantastic stay at the hotel. From the moment I arrived, the service was professional, friendly, and welcoming. A special thank you to Nabs, Will and Sarah for kindly upgrading my room—it was a wonderful surprise and made my stay even more enjoyable. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with great amenities and a premium feel throughout the hotel. The staff were attentive and always happy to help, making the entire experience seamless. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Birmingham and will definitely stay here again. Thank you and the whole team for the outstanding hospitality!

The staff here were so lovely. Helpful & friendly. Both in reception & in the block & bar. It was a work stay and we had breakfast & evening meal - the steak & churro sundae as most welcome after a long day. It’s a high building in a busy street but the room was soundproof- I didn’t hear any noise. Perfect location for us, 5 minute walk away.
