About The Aston Tavern

The Aston Tavern suits visitors after a small, easy-going base with a proper pub at its heart rather than a corporate city-centre block. With 17 individually decorated rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, it works well for couples, solo travellers or families who appreciate a bit of character over uniform decor, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children.

Downstairs there's a bar, a garden and outdoor seating for warmer days, plus a picnic area and breakfast each morning. Staff are on hand around the clock via 24 hour reception, and practicalities like free on-site parking, free WiFi and drinks brought to your room are all covered, along with meeting rooms and concierge services for those combining business with their stay.

Nearby options include a golf course, fishing, pubs and bars, restaurants and other entertainment, so there's plenty to fill an evening or a free afternoon. Worth noting is that opening hours can occasionally be cut short without much warning, so it's sensible to check ahead if you're planning to rely on the bar or breakfast at a particular time.

Every was great. Absolutely stunning place. Staff were proud, knowledgeable and delightful. Room was immaculate and so well detailed, the fixtures and fittings in the Victorian style were brilliant. The proximity to Villa Park is a short lovely walk past a beautiful church. Breakfast service great. I stayed with my son, we only live just outside of Birmingham but wanted to celebrate after the game. We felt looked after and comfortable the whole time, a real family run feel with all the personal touches just right. Definitely will stay again as a treat. The restoration of this building is incredible, the level of detail is mind blowing. Loved it!! Top marks!!!

Really fantastic place. Went to a private function, a dear friends funeral. Tha venue was great, so much room for everyone too move around inside and outside. Food was great and a good selection of different beers, on tap, wines, and many different spirits. Staff were wonderful, with the amount of people who attended, they all coped very well, and wer all so friendly, helpful, and respectful. The Aston tavern 🍺 would definitely be a venue i would book for a private function and would also recommend to anyone who wants a really big, bright and airy venue, with tremendous staff who all work to great standard..

Absolutely brilliant set up. A huge Victorian building. Five pounds entry fee (which normally I would refuse to pay) BUT, a great pub, near the ground, free parking (£8 in other car parks) and a curry included. Staropramen, Aspalls, Guinness, Cafferys Black Stout. Really friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Loads of staff, football on TV's. ...what not to love. BTW. Villa are a massive, brilliant club. With superb support.

I traveled to Birmingham for 24 hours for a Villa match while on my way elsewhere in Europe for a business trip, and everything was superb. Location was a short walk to the stadium, the accommodations were top notch, and the service was above and beyond. I don't use the word "charming" often, but as an American who stays in cookie-cutter chain hotels, this was the most charming accommodation I've ever stayed at. The room was beautiful and having a thriving pub downstairs for pre/post-game was the best. Would absolutely stay here again.
