About Travelodge Birmingham Yardley

With the A45 running past the door, Travelodge Birmingham Yardley makes a handy base for reaching Birmingham Airport, the NEC and the city centre without much fuss, whether you're heading in for a show, a flight or a day of meetings.

Rooms are en-suite and come with drinks-making facilities, and there are accessible rooms available alongside the standard layout. Many find the rooms roomy and well kept, though it's worth knowing that some have reported rooms feeling a bit tired, so standards can vary. Breakfast is served on site, though opinions on it are mixed. Free on-site parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis, there's an electric vehicle charge point, and reception operates around the clock. Pets are welcome, which suits guests travelling with dogs.

Beyond the hotel itself, there's a pub and a couple of restaurants nearby for evening food, useful given the mixed word on the in-house breakfast. Staff are generally described as friendly and helpful, and the overall value for money is a recurring plus point for anyone needing a straightforward, well-placed stopover in Birmingham.

Great location, very convenient for our needs, great car parking. The staff extremely pleasant & helpful. We stopped at the travel lodge Yardley on the 1st July for 2 nights. We had booked a ground floor room in advance, but when we got there, there had been a maintenance issue with the room & was informed that we would have to take a room upstairs. Sadly this travelodge does not have a lift which was going to cause a bit of a problem with a mobility issue. Tracey was on duty & she managed to adapt a ground floor room for us which was so nice of her. Tracey was successful in making sure our stay was a comfortable one. Thank you so much Tracey!

Overall expected from a 2 star hotel, but the minimum should’ve been higher. The floor was found with stains and clearly not cleaned. Extra pillows were dirty, and the bathroom had a bad smell, also wasn’t found cleaned to hygienic standards. Bedding wouldn’t be changed nor would you receive fresh towels although may not be the case for everyone. But the WiFi is the biggest scam, and I strongly recommend to anyone to not buy it as it’s overpriced yet extremely slow for even basic website searching.

Travelodge at Yardley was excellent, here for a couple of nights, room was spotless, quiet location which perfectly suited us as we were visiting Heartlands Hospital 10 minutes in the car away, perfect service, a little bit of noise from Smokey Barrels pub/restaurant on the Friday night but not really intrusive and the car park gets fairly full but we still found a space even though we arrived at 9:30pm. Very good!

Avoid at all costs. This is easily one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms are not cleaned. I was told by staff that unless you stay over 7 days, they do not clean the room at all. No daily cleaning, no fresh towels, nothing. That is completely unacceptable for a hotel and an absolute deal breaker. Breakfast is a joke. You get tiny “prison-style” milk portions, basic cornflakes, a cheap chocolate croissant, and a flapjack. That’s it. Extremely poor quality and clearly done on a rock-bottom budget. To make things worse, there is no Wi-Fi at all in the hotel. In this day and age, that’s ridiculous. Facilities-wise, this place is terrible. There’s also no lift, which makes it unsuitable for prams, wheelchairs, or anyone with mobility issues. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, no Wi-Fi, poor facilities, and awful breakfast make this place unacceptable. Save your money and definitely try somewhere else.
