I had quite high expectations before visiting, as I’d heard a lot of good things about this place. The food is quite authentic Hong Kong-style siu mei. The crispy pork belly had a nicely crispy skin, the char siu tasted very traditional, and the roast duck was tender. However, the pork belly was quite fatty, with more fat than meat, which made it feel a bit oily for my taste. The portion of meat on the rice was also relatively small. On the positive side, the pak choi was fresh and the soy sauce on the rice was very flavourful.

I visited this new-ish location for lunch on a Thursday. There was a small queue to order but it wasn’t overly busy. It is a notably large space with plenty of seating (see pics), and with many customers getting take away it was quite easy to find a seat. I came in planning to try the roast duck but was told it would be a 15-20 min wait, so I went for the Hainan chicken instead. This was nice enough, the chicken was tender and juicy, but having had the duck before there was no contest - the duck was way better. I also tried the lamb dumplings and these were very good. I paid £20 for my lunch. Overall a more comfortable and spacious location versus Liverpool Street and I’ll be back to try the duck next time.

I was searching for a decent Hainan chicken rice for a while, and stumbled across this splendid Chinese barbecue joint. Total satisfaction. Chicken was soft and tender, and rice is perfectly cooked absorbing the flavors from chicken. Also impressed by the overall cleanliness of the place. Added comment 31/3/2026: Roast duck was great too!

We had a chicken and duck rice meal and a duck and char siu noodle meal - they were flavourful, fresh and delicious. The lo mein was perfect. Everything brought us back to eating around HK. Cheeky ask – would you consider bringing HK milk tea and HK Lemon tea? 😁
