Oak Lodge sits in a quiet residential corner of Bournemouth, within walking distance of a 40-acre nature reserve and close enough to local shops and pubs that you won't need the car for everyday needs. The seafront and pier are 3 miles away; the New Forest and Purbeck hills are short drives in either direction if you want to venture further. Everything is on the ground floor: a living and dining room with Freeview, a kitchen with electric oven and gas hob for proper cooking, and a conservatory that opens onto an enclosed garden with seating.
The two bedrooms sleep four—a double and two singles—and there's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. The driveway has a slight incline and there's parking for three cars. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking.
This works well for families wanting beach access without being in the thick of the seafront crowds, or for anyone who'd rather base themselves in a quiet garden and make trips to Bournemouth's attractions—the town centre shops, restaurants and bars, or the Oceanarium—as and when they fancy it.

Lovely cottage in a good location. Nature reserve right behind, ideal for the morning dog walk. Needs a bit of updating but it has everything you need, apart from a decent WiFi connection. Don't expect a week from home and still use your gadgets. Really enjoying our stay, we are spoilt with the weather. Very relaxing, just what we need 😊

Lovely cosy holiday rental , if you are looking for luxury then this may not be for you but if like us you are looking for somewhere to have as a base for your holiday in Dorset then this is highly recommended.

On arrival the first impression was very good, nice drive however, the front door looked like it needed a repaint, the main bedroom was very drab with an old plain grey duvet cover, a wardrobe that had one side locked so nowhere to hang clothes, did not sleep well all week as the bed was uncomfortable. Single bed against wall was very noisy & creaky. The small window in bathroom needs attention as is very hard to close, so did not use, no opening windows in kitchen as the only window is fixed shut also window in rear conservatory does not close. The kitchen generally was not very clean, plastic trays where filthy so did not use. The lounge was inviting with comfortable sofas and plenty of occasional tables, lovely little conservatory. All in all we feel that this lovely bungalow just needs a deep clean and some repairs and a bit of a face lift as is looking very dull & tired, maybe some new towels & bed linen! The garden was the best feature, simply beautiful, our little dog loved it. Plenty of hot water, everything we needed regarding utensils & crockery but just not very clean. We also appreciated the grab rails in bathroom and also the outside steps to the garden. Thank you again for the milk & biscuits.
