About The Pavilion Arms

The New Forest National Park lies within easy reach of The Pavilion Arms, making this Wimborne Road hotel a handy base for walking or cycling days out, while Bournemouth's town centre is around 1.5 miles away for anyone wanting the seafront, shops or evening entertainment. Golf, fishing and watersports are all available nearby too, and the area has plenty of pubs and restaurants for those who prefer to head out for the evening.

The hotel itself has just 10 rooms, each decorated with care and kept spotless, with nice extras like fresh milk and homemade cookies waiting for guests on arrival. Breakfast is a highlight, with a good spread of options to start the day, and there's a restaurant and bar on site along with outdoor seating for warmer weather. Free WiFi, drinks in the room and luggage storage round out the practical touches, and free on-site parking makes driving in straightforward.

Staff are generally helpful and the atmosphere is a welcoming one, though service can occasionally feel a little slow at busier times. For a small hotel with easy access to both the coast and the New Forest, it makes a sensible choice for exploring this part of Dorset.

We recently stayed at The Pavilion and we had such a fantastic experience from stay to finish. From the moment we arrived, The manager, Matt and the ever lovely Anna made us feel genuinely cared for, turning what was a disappointing day into something uplifting and memorable. There act of kindness, we will never forget. The room was modern, spotless and beautifully presented. It came equipped with a fan, radio and the usual tea, coffee & fresh milk & cookies in the fridge, everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was fabulous. They've introduced a new menu and it really shows in the quality and variety. What truly sets this hotel apart is the staff. They are consistently warm, friendly and attentive. Anna in particular, is such a lovely young lady, warm, genuine, and someone we've really come to love over our visits. Her kindness always brightens our stay. We can't thank the team enough for turning our situation around.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food good and good value. The Dyson cooling fan in the room was great. Only one minor blip, an extra coffee at breakfast was charged for, I think considering the cost of the room this could have been included.

We had an excellent stay at The Pavilion Arms. We booked two rooms, and one of them was unexpectedly upgraded to a very spacious suite, which was a nice surprise. Both rooms were spotless, comfortable, and generously sized. Although we visited on a very hot day and there was no air conditioning, the rooms stayed much more comfortable than many of the other places we stayed during our trip, so it wasn't a problem. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and offered a great selection of both healthy and sweet options, so everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

Well looked after. Room was very clean. A little small ( my fault. There are bigger rooms. I should have asked!). So hanging space for clothes was limited, but for a 2 night stay w as fine. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Had 2 breakfasts and an evening meal. Menu. House was very good. Food excellently prepared. It’s about a 20 min walk to the sea front. A downhill section going, so uphill coming back! They claim “ limited parking” but we had no problem parking on our comings and goings over our 3 day stay. Would definitely return.
