About Bournemouth Sands Hotel

Evening entertainment is a fixture at Bournemouth Sands Hotel, a coastal hotel on West Cliff Gardens in Bournemouth, making it a good match for guests who like their stay to include more than just a bed for the night. The restaurant draws praise for its breakfast and dinner choices, with a bar, snack bar and outdoor seating adding to the options, plus packed lunches and kids' meals for those out and about during the day.

Rooms come as en-suite, family and accessible options, all with drinks facilities and free WiFi, and housekeeping keeps them cleaned regularly, though a number are noticeably dated rather than recently refurbished. A lift serves the building, and cycle storage and a games room round out the facilities for guests without a car or looking to fill an afternoon.

Staff are consistently described as friendly and efficient, which smooths over the practical side of a stay. Outside the hotel, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing and watersports, along with cycling and walking routes, plus nearby pubs and restaurants for evenings away from the hotel's own dining room. Free on-site parking is available for those arriving by car.

Outstanding hotel. Food, rooms and staff are first class. Close to bus stops. Easy access on slanted pathway, as there are several steps from car park to entrance of hotel. Lift to each floor although, depending on how far down corridor your room is, you might encounter a small flight down and then up again to access the rest of the coridoor.

My 83 year old mother will not return after her recent visit. Initially given room 108A which she couldn't even reach the window and is clearly a sad example of a room which was clearly added from a possible storage room. Then moved to room 322. Shower tray flooded the room and despite it being re-sealed the fault remained and it didn't solve the problem. Food wasn't great with the Continental breakfast comprising of a Banana, some grapes and a croissant?!. Absolutely ridiculous, Where's the cheese or cold meats ? Finally numerous people were unwell after eating numerous meals. Having had some nice Holidays this wasn't 1 of them, considering she's been a 4/5 times a year customer over the last 7 years, she's learned Loughborough is no longer on the pick up route and will probably not use them again. RE YOUR REPLY. She already has and received a NONSENSE REPLY. She'll never travel with them again.

The location was very good. The room was ok, but dated. The food service was very slow and disorganised. Certain food items not turning up and running out without any replacement. The servers were rushed off their feet, but the system they work with, needs to be reviewed.
