About Britannia Hotel Bournemouth

Rooms at Britannia Hotel Bournemouth come with en-suite bathrooms as standard, and there are family and accessible options among the 123 available across the hotel's five floors. Drinks can be brought to your room, and the overall feel is straightforward rather than plush, so guests after simple, comfortable accommodation rather than a boutique experience will feel most at home.

Downstairs there's a casual restaurant and a lounge bar, along with an indoor swimming pool and a spa and sauna for guests who want to unwind without leaving the building. Breakfast is served on-site, and the hotel also has meeting rooms, a garden, a picnic area and outdoor seating, plus facilities for weddings. On-site parking is available but chargeable, and spaces are limited, so it's worth planning ahead if you're driving.

The hotel sits on East Cliff in Bournemouth, within reach of the Dorset coastline and Bournemouth Pier, and the surrounding area offers walking and cycling routes, watersports, golf and fishing nearby, along with pubs and restaurants for evenings out. Pets are welcome, making it a practical base for exploring the seafront and beyond.

Stayed in a double bedroom, Good points, clean, good breakfast, bar good, friendly staff, reasonably priced, room was nice and warm. Not so good points, bathroom was too small and cramped, shower head suitable for someone 5ft and smaller, mattress too hard, pillows too flat. TV was the size of a postage stamp. Enjoyed the stay but might upgrade next time too see if there upgraded rooms cater for tall people. Weird selection of paintings in the bedroom we noticed. Made the room feel very depressing.

We were given filthy tiny room with sign of leakage over the ceiling. Some yellow stains on the walls. It was even hard to breathe in such small room with an old carpet. lift is a joke. It's only for 2 people. Wasn't able to use it with my single pushchair. Parking is rather too small for the size of the hotel so had to park on the street at my own risk as there were no enough parking space. Not worth the money that we paid.

Have always slept well here, rooms are really spacious for the price, however that normally means not as warm. Staff have always given an extra heater on request. Clean rooms, showers are good. Very relaxed atmosphere, quiet hotel. Good value for money and booking in is easy.

Positives. Great location, parking, good size bedroom and bathroom. Negatives, not very clean room, carpet needed hoovering, dirt on the socket's. The hotel need updating, the decor is very tired and the carpets on the stairs are thread bare. Saying all that, the price was £60 for the night. Not expensive but, I still don't accept that hygiene to be neglected.
