About Amarillo Bed & Breakfast
Amarillo Bed & Breakfast occupies a restored Victorian house set in a quiet residential pocket between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers, just outside the busier town centre. It has picked up a run of guest house awards over the years, largely on the strength of personal service and a genuinely home-like atmosphere rather than hotel-style scale.
Bedrooms are individually furnished, mixing period character with modern comforts, and breakfast is served in a dining room that guests consistently single out as a highlight, using local ingredients where possible. The quieter side-street setting gives a break from the noise of the main seafront without adding much to the walk to the beach.
Being midway between Bournemouth and Boscombe piers, it puts both seafronts within a comfortable walk, along with the independent cafes and shops that have grown up along Boscombe's Christchurch Road in recent years.
It suits couples and independent travellers who want a personally run guest house over a larger hotel, in a quiet setting that still keeps the beach and two different stretches of seafront within easy walking distance.
What guests say
If you are in Bournemouth, you simply much visit this gem of a bed and breakfast. I came here by chance as the hotel I originally booked with cancelled my booking whilst I was trying to check in! I called the Amarillo Guesthouse and got their last room. Jane and Ged are amazing hosts and made sure I was well looked after, after a stressful time of trying to find somewhere in an overbooked Bournemouth. The rooms are exquisite - each unique and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was provided with cereals, avocado, cheeses, yogurt, bagels and crumpets. Nothing is too much for these amazing hosts. They obviously love what they do and it shows in the feel of the place which has an amazing energy. Thank you Jane and Ged and if I am ever back in Bournemouth, I will be back. For those staying I stayed in room 8, which was the only room that was not en-suite. It has a private bathroom on the landing. Please don’t let this put you off. Nobody else can use this and they even provide you with a bathrobe.

3 nights stay. Down to visit two sets of friends. Exceptional guest house ran by the lovely Jane & Ged. We would normally book a 5* hotel but I found this little gem & the reviews were amazing plus at this time of year they don't do breakfast which suited us perfectly.

We stayed at Amarillo Guesthouse for 3 nights as a whole house rental while attending a local sports festival, and it was absolutely perfect for our football team. The house is beautiful, spacious, and immaculately clean — ideal for a group stay. The hosts Jane & Ged are incredibly welcoming and made everything easy from start to finish. Great location too, close to everything we needed. Highly recommend!
