About The Maemar Hotel

The Maemar Hotel has a lounge with a dance floor tucked in among its facilities, a nod to the fact that this is a place built for straightforward, sociable stays rather than boutique fuss. Set on West Hill Road in Bournemouth, it offers 40 rooms with plain, functional comfort, and free WiFi and air conditioning throughout.

Guests get free on-site parking, a restaurant and bar on the property, and breakfast to start the day. There's a garden for some outdoor space, plus meeting rooms and business services for those combining work with a stay, and porter and concierge services on hand for the practical side of things. Laundry service and luggage storage add further convenience, and the hotel is also set up as a wedding venue.

Beyond the property, Bournemouth's coast and town centre attractions are within reach, and the immediate area has entertainment, pubs and bars, and further restaurants nearby. It's an unpretentious base for exploring the town rather than a destination in itself.

Very basic and small rooms. Beds were clean but could do with replacing. Shower door broke and every where looked like it needed replacing or updating. Very noisy did not sleep at all well. Was glad to leave

We stayed there for a little family holiday for the weekend, Friday 20th of January till Sunday 22nd. Arrived at the hotel, checked in, they gave us room no 8 which is a room of 3 single bed on first floor. So first thing first, their lift is out of service, so You'll have to carry your luggage and bags upstairs. Got to room and what a disappointment, 3 single beds, a table to make tea or coffee, and a wardrobe without any hanger to put your clothes on. There's no bedside cabinet or anything. Burnt iron marks on the carpet. Mouldy walls. The blinds are barely covering the windows. The toilet sink was blocked and the window wasn't shutting properly so I had to call someone to fix it. Shower looks awful. Only half rolls of toilet tissue paper. There's no hand wash on the sink. Then we turned the TV on and found out the TV remote is not working. So we talked to the guy on reception again and he turned up with hand full of remotes to see which one works. We asked for extra toilet tissues and he was really kind to give us couples. My partner cut her feet open on night while sleeping and found out there's broken glasses on the bed under the sheet. We let them know first thing in the morning. No apology what so ever and looked at us like we deliberately put broken glasses under the sheet and blaming them. We told him we're really not happy with the state of the room, he said he can't do anything as he's a receptionist, only thing he can do is let the management know and get back to us. We said fine. Which we're still waiting after a week !!! There's lights on the wall by bedside within the reach of little kids, I had to ask my 3 years old couple of times not to touch it. Overall it was the worst hotel experience we had ever. So please please please avoid this place. Thanks

Please don't stay here. There's no one at reception, called the number and no one responds. So it's extremely hard to check in and check out. Ended up just sliding the key into the reception desk. Probably more concerning is the blood on the mattresses. And there was a party on the ground floor until 2am. As well as a woman screaming at 8am in the morning and banging on one of the doors. I know the location is good, but I would advise against staying here. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but cut it short and just stayed one (without being refunded the night we did not stay).

I stayed there for 1 night, and I couldn't even take a shower. the room had a bad smell, the bathroom was blocked. the water in the shower didn't go down... everything was very dirty and smelly, they took a 50 pound deposit. and they didn't return it... it's been 17 days and I haven't received my money back... I sent an email. messages, and nothing! I contacted booking so they could resolve it, bad place and it was expensive for me… one night 150 pounds + 50 deposit which was not returned.
