Riverside farm camping five minutes from Bradford-on-Avon, on the Somerset border
About Stowford Manor Farm
Stowford Manor Farm sits quietly on the Wiltshire-Somerset border, a small family-run site wrapped around a working farm where a thirteenth-century farmhouse and a working watermill anchor the scene. Grass pitches for tents and tourers spread out within sight of old farm workshops, lending a genuine sense of place that many larger campgrounds lack. The River Frome runs along one edge, deep enough for proper swimming and paddle boarding through summer—making a dip part of the daily rhythm here rather than an occasional treat.
Electric hookups serve motorhomes and caravans, a handful of glamping units are available for those travelling light, and dogs are welcome on leads. The farm café turns out cream teas from Easter to September and bakes fresh pizzas to order on summer evenings, sparing the need for a drive after a day on the water. Facilities can feel a touch basic compared to larger sites, but the location—tucked into Wingfield hamlet, five minutes from Bradford-on-Avon—delivers easy access to Trowbridge and Somerset villages, with quiet lanes ideal for walking and cycling radiating out from the farm gate.
