Wingfield Cottage

Wiltshire

Wingfield Cottage suits couples, small families and friends travelling together with a dog. Built in the early 19th century as part of a terrace for estate workers, this bath-stone cottage sits down a quiet lane in Wingfield village, offering a private base with authentic period character. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and parking for two cars makes exploring the wider area by road straightforward.

The cottage has two bedrooms: a king-size and a second room with a zip-and-link king bed that can be split into twins. There is one bathroom with a shower and small bath on the ground floor. The lounge revolves around a log burner, with a dining table, Smart TV, DVD player and board games for evenings in. The kitchen comes equipped for cooking proper meals—dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob and the basics for everyday use. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are included. Note that the stairs are steep and one doorway is low. Smoking is not permitted.

Front and rear gardens provide outdoor space with a charcoal barbecue for summer meals, though there is no lawn. A walking path is roughly a minute's walk away for morning dog walks. Bath is within reach for museums and shopping, Bradford on Avon nearby for riverside walks, and the surrounding countryside offers easy day trips. Guests typically settle in for quiet evenings back at the cottage after days out exploring the region.
