Timbrell's Yard occupies a converted Grade II listed malthouse directly on the banks of the River Avon in the centre of Bradford-on-Avon, one of the most central places to stay in town and among its best regarded. Seventeen individually decorated bedrooms mix exposed stone and timber with contemporary furnishings, several looking directly over the water.
The ground floor restaurant and bar have built a strong reputation under a kitchen with a farm-to-plate focus, drawing diners from beyond the hotel's own guests, while a large outdoor terrace beside the river makes the most of the setting in warmer months. A log burner in the bar keeps the space equally appealing through the winter.
Families and dogs are welcomed, with dogs receiving their own overnight goody bag, and the location puts every attraction in the town centre, from the Saxon church to the Shambles, within a short walk. Bath is a fifteen-minute drive or a short train ride away.

Visited as a part of 11 on a bank holiday Monday. We arrived about 6pm as a walk-in and we were expecting there to be a limited chance of getting a table, but we were able to sit outside quite comfortably all together. We all ordered pizza from the menu and it was really tasty. Felt that it offered good value too. We ordered at the bar and staff were really friendly. One of the bar staff was on his first ever shift that evening too and he did a great job! We will definitely be back and have already recommended you to friends

We were recommended lunch here after canoeing all morning. The menu looked incredible so we’re eager to order. We didn’t mind the wait as the food looked so good. When it arrived I was slightly disappointed as the BLT was meant to be on focaccia but instead was on thick, brown sourdough. Nobody informed me and our server never returned once during the following hour and a half we stayed there. I ate the sandwich but the sourdough isn’t really conducive for a BLT. Obviously, your mileage may vary. My friends really enjoyed their food and the setting/hotel was beautiful. The bar staff were extremely friendly when ordering drinks as well.

We had an exceptional 3 night stay at Timbrell’s Yard this month. We found it top notch! The staff were all very friendly and responsive and we found that they worked well as a team! Rooms were clean, the restaurant and bar had great selections and the pop up bakery is a wonderful addition!! Keep up the good work! I’d highly recommend a stay!!

We didn't stay overnight but we had dinner. Honestly: one of the best meals we could have had. The Flat Iron Steak was perfectly cooked to my desire, with crispy chips and a delicious peppercorn sauce. The ice-cream is homemade and really delicious. The wine list has a solid variety, so each meal can be paired with the right drink We had our server change in the middle of our stay, but both of them came regularly, looked after us, recommended us good choices and we're super friendly Overall, it was a really nice time, and if you are in the area I highly recommend to visit!
