Rural Norfolk's quiet lanes and conservation hamlets define the setting for The Pightle. This barn conversion occupies a working farm's grounds in Breckland, where resident barn and little owls add to the sense of isolation. The River Nar lies within walking distance, crossed by a footbridge and known locally for paddling and family outings. From here, Castle Acre's 14th-century priory and Norman castle are reachable on foot through watermeadows, while the Peddars Way and Norfolk Coastal Path both start nearby.
Three bedrooms and one bathroom accommodate five guests across two floors. Downstairs, a living room with woodburner and French doors opens onto the garden, while a separate kitchen/dining room is equipped for cooking and has a dishwasher. An enclosed patio and garden furniture provide outdoor space. Upstairs are three bedrooms—two doubles and a twin—plus a bathroom with bath and shower. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity and bed linen are included; initial fuel for the woodburner is provided. A cot and highchair are available, and parking is on site. Smoking is not permitted.
The Norfolk coast—Brancaster's beaches and seals, Hunstanton, the RSPB reserves and Royal Sandringham—lies 30 minutes' drive away. The Brecks and Norfolk Broads are also within reach, making this a practical base for exploring the county without staying on it.
