Couples and small families looking for genuine seclusion will find Stillwater appeals immediately. The lodge sits on six acres of meadow and woodland in Breckland, with its own lake and direct access to the water's edge. You get the whole property to yourself, ground-floor layout, and a private outdoor bath on the decking—the kind of feature that justifies a special trip. One dog can come along for free.
Inside, the open-plan living space centres on a wood burner and opens onto the garden through French doors. There are two bedrooms, each with an ensuite shower: one has a super king bed, the other a zip-and-link that can be split into two singles. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, with an induction hob, dishwasher and all the basics. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with fuel for the burner. Parking is on site for two cars.
The grounds have two steps and open water, so access differs for those with mobility needs or very young children. The nearest towns are some distance away, making this a proper retreat rather than a base for exploring—which is the whole point.
