About The Good Life Wales

Tucked into 12 acres of Welsh farmland with Pen y Fan looming on the horizon, The Good Life Wales offers a single luxury lodge retreat for couples seeking proper seclusion. Owners Roger and Debbie – who swapped city life for this Powys hillside in 2018 – have layered on the self-sufficient charm: a wood-fired hot tub you heat yourself, spring water straight from the ground, a log-burner as your only heat source, and a half-acre vegetable garden threading into woodland walks and wild meadows. The Brecon Beacons' trails lie five minutes' drive away; the lodge's outdoor deck, complete with stone fire-pit and tripod barbecue, keeps you rooted closer to home.

Inside, the compact kitchen (baby oven, two hobs) and cosy living room strike a balance between rustic ritual and creature comfort – though heating that tub and keeping the fire stoked means this isn't a hands-off escape. If you're after restaurant meals and bubble jets, look elsewhere; if you want hammocks, hanging baskets and the kind of quiet that only a single-pitch site can deliver, you've found it.

We had a 2 night stay here,to just relax and unwind from life. The good life wales was the perfect place. The hosts were amazing and had thought of everything. We stayed in the beehive which was amazing,it had its own private hot tub which was fab,we had a bbq on both nights which was great our own sun terrace with the most beautiful view. Would definitely stay here again and again.x

We spent two nights here and wish it could have been longer! The cottage was perfect, clean and cosy. It was very modern and kitted out with everything we could need! The outdoor area with a wood fired hot tub, charcoal bbq and couch/table chairs overlooked the lake/hills/vegetable patches and chicken coop - this was the highlight of our stay. Seeing the stars from the hot tub with no light pollution around was just amazing. We loved the extra touches in the cottage, traditional board games, books, smart TV, DVD player and a selection of films, and indoor wood burning fire. Debbie greeted us upon arrival and was extremely helpful and a genuinely lovely host (she even gave us some freshly picked courgette from the veg patch, which was lovely on the BBQ!). Would most definitely recommend to anyone wanting to leave all their cares at home and relax for a few days!

Fantastic relaxing 2 night break last weekend. Amazing location and scenery for those that want to relax away from the hustle and bustle. Very welcoming hosts who made sure we had anything and everything we required. We hope to be back soon.
