Dark Sky Lodge sits within the Brecon Beacons International Dark Sky Reserve, where the night sky is among the clearest in the UK. This detached lodge on the owners' one-acre grounds offers ground-floor living throughout: a sitting room with woodburner and 32" TV, separate dining room, and a kitchen with electric oven and hob. One bedroom has two single beds and an ensuite toilet; the other contains a double bed and a separate shower room. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the burner.
The enclosed garden has a patio, furniture and BBQ, with parking for two cars on the drive. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for shared use. The property draws water from a natural spring. From here you can walk to Llyn Y Fan Fach glacial lake or drive a short distance to Cray Reservoir, both set against open moorland and mountain views. Sennybridge, 7 miles away, has pubs and restaurants; Brecon, 16 miles off, offers coffee shops, the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum and the Monmouthshire Canal for towpath walks. The lodge suits couples or small families wanting to explore the park or simply watch the stars from the garden. No smoking.

Lovely lodge in the middle of a forestry. The garden has an amazing selection of birds, the owners are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The lodge has been done beautifully with nice use of modern rustic materials. Super base for exploring the Brecons.

A lovely cozy lodge in a beautiful setting. We were welcomed with a roaring fire and baked treats. The lodge has everything you need to get a way from it all. Highly recommend.

We chose the lodge due to it being surrounded by a forest and in a designated dark sky area. We wanted to get away to just relax from our busy city lives. I am pleased to say our stay at the lodge delivered on every count and more. The owners of the lodge and our hosts were the lovely Rose & Paul, who built the lodge from scratch and live in the main house which is segregated and away from the lodge but they are conveniently close by if needed. The lodge was presented immaculately and super clean. Two bedrooms a double and twin. The surrounding forest which genuinely started from the edge of the garden was magical and we couldn't believe that we had it all to ourselves to explore. We also took the opportunity to star gaze and witnessed the Perseid meteors shooting across the clear night sky with the spectacular shades of colour from the northern lights, simply amazing. The lodge is also a good base from which to explore the Brecons and to participate in all the outdoor activities on offer in the area. Something to suit everyone at all levels from families to the adrenaline seekers. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here and getting back to nature, relax and unwind.

We had a fabulous weekend at Dark Sky Lodge. The lodge is very comfortable, and well equipped. The log fire was fully loaded and lit when we arrived, giving out a superb heat and it set the standard for the whole weekend. We spoke to the owners Rose and Paul. They were very friendly but never intrusive.
