About Burntisland Sands Hotel

Burntisland Sands Hotel is a modest, unpretentious building on Lochies Road, right by the Fife coastline, with only four rooms in total. It's the kind of straightforward, family-run set-up that favours comfort over frills, and its seafront position gives several rooms views out over the water.

Rooms are simple and en-suite, with family and accessible options available, and each stay includes a cooked breakfast and free on-site parking. There's a bar and restaurant on site, packed lunches can be arranged, and guests have access to a garden and outdoor seating, free WiFi, and small meeting rooms for those combining business with a coastal break.

Burntisland itself offers easy access to golf, fishing, cycling and walking routes, along with nearby pubs, restaurants and watersports, making the hotel a practical base for exploring the local coast rather than a destination in itself.

We are locals to Burntisland and have been frequenting the Sands for many years. We also have had friends visiting stay here and they always report a brilliant all round experience. I am writing this review after celebrating our daughter's christening at the Sands' (generously!) free function room this Sunday. The event was a resounding success and that was all down to the attentive care of staff, the brilliant spread they put on for us and the frequent manning of our own personal bar. The room is a great size, we had full use of the outdoor patio, there were quite a few children at the event and the playpark and Wendy house on site were a huge hit. The owner took us through the whole process and was so kind, helpful and communicative throughout. The event really echoed our continued experience at the Sands as a warm, welcoming (really our go-to) place, with great quality food that we're very lucky to have in Burntisland. Huge thanks to the staff for making this experience so special for us.

We went along for their Vegan Night and we both enjoyed the food. The service fell down a bit for the dessert as they forgot about us, but they were busy to be fair at that point. We’d go again.

Couldn't fault this wee place. Rooms are basic but very clean. Booked a deal they had and was absolutely worth the money. We had a great time the food was outstanding and staff so helpful. June never seemed to stop she was helping in the kitchen she checked us in she served in the bar on the evening and was the last staff member we seen before bed and she was back again working when we got up for breakfast! Give her a bonus she well and truly deserves something she stood out to us big time! Thanks again for a great night away.

A hidden gem and a stones throw from the beach. Friendly and helpful staff, good sized rooms with a nice sea view. We both had an excellent nights sleep in a comfy bed with zero noise from eleven o’clock onwards. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. A good variation of food for all tastes on the menu. Will definitely stay again.
