Recently rebuilt club site at Silverknowes, minutes from the Forth shore
About Edinburgh Caravan and Motorhome Club Site
This Caravan and Motorhome Club site at Silverknowes occupies a northern corner of Edinburgh where the city meets the Firth of Forth. A couple of minutes' walk brings you to the promenade and shoreline path with views across to Fife, while Cramond village and its tidal causeway to Cramond Island lie a pleasant stroll west along the coast. Regular buses from the main road cover the four miles into the city centre, though August bookings fill fast.
Substantially rebuilt in recent years, the facilities now rank among the better ones in the Club network. Two heated toilet blocks include washbasins in cubicles, hairdryers, an accessible en-suite and a baby room with child-sized fittings, plus dishwashing areas and laundries in each block. A separate drying room proves its worth in Scottish weather. Pitches are level and largely hardstanding, many fully serviced with electricity, water and drainage, and there's a fenced play area, boules court and dog walk through natural woodland. It suits caravanners and motorhome owners more than tent campers, but families appreciate the flat ground and safe seafront access.

What visitors say
Edinburgh was the best-equipped campsite of our Scotland trip, with excellent facilities and a very high standard of maintenance.\\n\\nOur only disappointment was the late-arrival process. We had stayed at the site less than a week earlier, called ahead to advise of A9 roadwork delays and arrived around 10 minutes after reception closure. Despite the site already knowing who we were and having all booking and vehicle details, we were unable to access the serviced pitch we had booked and paid for.\\n\\nCAMC subsequently apologised and explained that this was due to their standard policy for arrivals after 8pm. While I appreciate the need for consistent procedures, I still feel a degree of discretion for genuine guests who have called ahead would improve the customer experience.\\n\\nThe site itself remains excellent and I would stay again.

A great camp site, I would definitely recommend it for a few days. It was clean and tidy all the time. The water was hot and no problems with toilet roll. We had a big space with our Motorhome. The staff were very helpful.

Stayed here twice now and loved it both times. The staff are super friendly especially with my little boy. We visited the Zoo on both occasions which is a short taxi away. Me and my little boy loved seeing the airplanes heading into Edinburgh airport too!\\n\\nThank you!

As usual with CAMC sites, everything is great. The staff are helpful, efficient & friendly. The facilities are clean, and well serviced. My only moan would be the 6AM alarm every morning - that's when the planes start taking off, one a minute, until midnight. Of course, that's out of the site's control, so I can't downgrade them for that.\\nJust a short drive to Morrison's or Lidl, and a 15 minute walk to the bus stop (number 27) into Edinburgh, which we caught every day for three days.
