What visitors say

Kerry Pritchard

Beautiful place to visit, so many different species of birds. The walks are so good for mental health and if you like nature. Cafe a little expensive but that’s to be expected, playground for the children has something for all ages, my kids absolutely loved the den building section. staff were all very informative and the lady who we spoke to about the birds spoke with passion, absolutely loved that! Will definitely return.

So much to see for different reasons, the captive birds provide an introduction to young people, as well as great photos. You can tell the birds are well looked after. I'm used to WWT Welney so this was very different, but very good. From an accessibility view some of the gates are very heavy and it's best to go anticlockwise around the reserve so you can push through rather than pull open.

Nice place to see exotic birds and rare British ones. Easily signed to find your way round. Although the car park was rammed and I end up in the overflow area the reserve did not feel packed out at all. My grandson (8) had a thoroughly fun time which was my aim to introducing hm to bird watching further.

I absolutely adore Martin Mere. Their tickets and cafe are affordable, the site is accessible and well maintained, and their variety of birds is spectacular. Moreover, their staff are always friendly and willing to help. My partner and I have visited twice in the last year and have loved it both times. A fabulous spot for a bird lover regardless of your age!
