About Greystones Nawab Camping and Touring

Perched in spectacular Derbyshire countryside near Buxton, Greystones Nawab offers a peaceful retreat for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. The site welcomes tents and tourers across a compact spread of grass pitches—both electric and non-electric—and embraces a relaxed, campfire-friendly atmosphere that's become increasingly rare. Facilities cover the basics with showers, toilets and washing-up areas, while the surrounding landscape delivers in spades: this is genuine walkers' paradise territory, with climbing, cycling and mountain biking all close at hand.

It's worth noting the site can feel a touch basic in places, and some visitors find it less polished than they'd hoped given the setting. Still, for those prioritising location and a no-frills, dog-friendly base—rallies and Duke of Edinburgh groups are welcomed year-round—it ticks plenty of boxes. Pitches start from around £15 a night.

Had a lovely stay here for 7 nights. I've seen other reviews about the facilities, yes they were a little unclean at the weekend when it was busy, as are most campsites but for the price you can't complain. The owners were lovely and made sure everything was ok, the surroundings were great and they even apologised for trimming the hedges, which wasn't a problem because it made the view even better. Not a bad little site.

Lovely stay! This was our first ever trip in the camper we just bought and it was bang on! I made a phone call to owner on Friday who told me he had a pitch available for the bank holiday weekend. He told me which pitch he’d reserved for me, we turned up, plugged in with no hassle and cracked on with our weekend. Also I rang up for a last minute pitch for my parents to stay on Sunday night and he agreed it Sunday morning for them join and pitch up next to us. Really nice and friendly owner! Opportunities to meet the donkeys in the field over the back and the peacocks in garden area. We had a walk to near by dairy shop (tagg farm diary) were we had some unreal flavoured ice creams(highly recommend, however long queues) Facilities provided were good. Toilets nice, clean and well looked after and always stocked up with toilet roll. Little area for washing up and bins provided for waste too. Grass and abit of dirt in the shower, but what can you expect it’s a campsite? £1 for 5 minutes of constant hot water in the shower (Bargain) . All in all for our first trip we had a lovely time! Don’t read the bad reviews it’s just jobs worths that have nothing else to do with their time and the bad reviews are simply just false! We went to the Full Throttle Cafe on Monday morning when we left and the breakfast here was very good and the staff are very friendly (affordable prices too, highly recommend this also) (Don’t rely on google when looking for bus stops or buses as they don’t exist) Thankyou Mr Aslam for the quick response and reservation we had a great time!

We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this campsite and would not recommend it. The toilet facilities were consistently poorly maintained. On several occasions there was no toilet paper available, and when there was, it was incredibly thin and unpleasant to use. The toilet rolls were left sitting on a dirty, grubby shelf covered in mould, which was completely unhygienic. The toilets also did not flush properly, meaning we regularly encountered other people’s waste left behind. This made using the facilities very unpleasant. The shower and washroom facilities were absolutely filthy. They were in such poor condition that we felt unable to use them and had to shower elsewhere. There was also no soap and warm water available for handwashing, so we had to use our own shower gel instead with cold water. Completely unacceptable to not even provide the basics. We phoned to raise concerns about the cleanliness of the showers and were told that someone would come and clean them. However, when we checked again a few hours later, there was no noticeable improvement. We attempted to call back but received no response. By this point it was getting late, so we had no choice but to find alternative shower facilities. Someone else on the site saw someone come, poor cold water over the showers and leave it as that. Absolutely no attempt to clean them. As shown in the photos, parts of the site appeared to be used as a dumping ground, with broken items and general rubbish left around. This gave the whole site a neglected and poorly maintained appearance. We have stayed at many campsites and caravan parks over the years, and this is by far the worst we have experienced. We have never previously felt the need to complain about cleanliness, but the condition of the facilities here was unacceptable. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again and cannot recommend this site to others.

Absolutely loved our stay at this campsite! The setting was peaceful and scenic — perfect for a relaxing getaway. The pitches were spacious and well-kept, with easy access to clean facilities including hot showers and tidy restrooms. The owner was welcoming and always available to help with anything we needed, and kindly let us borrow a forgotten wire for our electrics. Great place for families, couples, or solo travelers looking to unwind in nature. Highly recommend and would definitely come back again!
