About Knotlow Farm
Tucked into the hills just outside Buxton, Knotlow Farm is a working farm campsite that strikes a nice balance between rural peace and handy access to the Peak District's trails and attractions. The on-site bar and takeaway mean you can settle in for the evening without needing to drive anywhere, and campfires are actively encouraged—a real bonus for atmosphere. Pitches are split between family-friendly and adults-only areas, all non-electric grass, so it suits those after a fairly traditional camping experience.
Facilities are decent: showers, washing-up areas, a parent-and-baby room, and renewable energy initiatives. The location is a genuine walkers' paradise, with climbing, cycling, and canoeing all close by. Some visitors note the site can feel a little remote if you're without a car, but for most that's precisely the appeal—quiet, open countryside with Buxton's cafés and shops just a short drive when you need them.

What visitors say
What a fantastic find! Such a beautiful campsite with excellent facilities. We had a lovely warm welcome from Margaret when we arrived and she was so helpful and friendly. There are various fields to camp in and she was very accommodating when we asked to camp in a different one to the one we booked. We also had a gorgeous breakfast bap all freshly cooked the next morning. There is a super 20 minute walk to the Bulls Head at Monyash where they serve lovely food. We also called at Youlgreave on the way to the campsite. This is such a beautiful village so well worth a visit. We will most definitely come back!

My partner and I just spent a very warm 3 night stay during bank holiday at the farm. Our first time camping on our own and it was a surreal experience. We stayed on the maple site, which offered the most amazing views! The whole time we were there from start to finish was just bliss. The owners were welcoming, the showers/toilets and pot wash area are well maintained and clean. The walk way from the tent down to the facilities is both beautiful and peaceful. The money you pay for a pitch is worth every penny and I promise this won’t be the last time we stay at this farm, what a way to remember our first camping adventure! Thank you Knotlow, you will be recommended to everyone we know!🏕️❤️

Yeah we camp a lot and this is one of the best. Loads of room. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Limitless pitch size which is great for families and big tents. Recycling facilities. Great location in the peaks. Brilliant

A super campsite. It is well organised, clean and the lady, Margaret, that runs it is very friendly and accommodating. There's a large family field; the children can play ball games in the middle. There is lots to do in the area, you can walk into Monyash to the Bulls Head pub in about 20 mins or drive around 5 mins. Youlgrave is a super village to visit, its about a 20 mins drive; there's a stream that runs through the bottom of the village that the children can paddle in. If you need to camp around Buxton you won't be disappointed . We will definitely be going back .
