Lubnaig Guest House occupies a Victorian villa built in 1864 on the edge of Callander, refurbished throughout in 2017 to a four-star standard while keeping its period proportions and mature garden setting. Six en-suite bedrooms are complemented by a two-bedroom coach house suited to families or small groups, and the grounds include sunny terraces looking toward the surrounding hills.
A fully licensed bar and cosy lounge give the guest house more of a small-hotel feel than many bed and breakfasts, and breakfast is cooked to order each morning using local ingredients. The short walk into central Callander keeps shops and restaurants within easy reach, while the quieter edge-of-town setting gives guests a calmer base than a Main Street address.
Lubnaig suits couples and small groups wanting guest house character with a slightly more polished, hotel-like level of service, and its coach house option makes it one of the more flexible small properties in Callander for families.

A great location within easy strolling distance of the centre of Callender. Big old place with lovely gardens and plenty of outdoor seating. Our rooms in the Coach House were fine, if a little small, but both had shower rooms. The main house has a comfortable lounge and a pleasant breakfast room/restaurant. The breakfast was very good and there was a lot of choice. Unfortunately we stayed Sunday and Monday which are the days that evening meals are not available because we would have liked to have tried them. The house cat is superb (I am not a cat person).

We stayed here with our family for a long weekend. We booked 5 rooms and every single one of them was excellent. Clean and furnitured with great taste. Francesca and Stefano are great hosts and super friendly. They made us feel very welcome. We certainly can recommend having dinner at the house. We ourselves took the four course menu on our day of arrival and it was exquisite. Stephano proofed to be a great chef! We definitely recommend staying at Lubnaig Geast House.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Francesca and Stefano were genuinely going the extra mile to make us feel like home. Cozy, comfortable and warm room in snowy days; great food recommendations; lovely chats at breakfast time…it was a charming base for all the activities around the area. Would be staying here again!

What did we enjoy our stay at Lubnaig Guesthouse with Stefano en Francesca as our hosts. It was superb. The room, the beds, the bathroom, it was all very good. De lounge which we could use, was cosy and offered the opportunity to meet the other guests in a non obtrusive way. Together (eventually we were with six) we asked for the possibility of having a dinner at Lubnaig Guesthouse. What a great Italian dinner we got!
