We booked a punting tour with Rutherford Punting Company through Viator as part of my friend's birthday celebrations, and it was one of the highlights of our day in Cambridge. The 50-minute tour was relaxing, well organised, and a fantastic way to see the city from a different perspective. The views of the College Backs and the historic bridges were beautiful. Our punter, Noah, was excellent. He was friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Cambridge and its colleges. He shared lots of interesting facts while keeping the tour fun and entertaining, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It was my friend's first time punting, and she absolutely loved it. It made for the perfect birthday treat. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cambridge. Thank you, Noah, for making it so memorable!

My wife and I had the chance to visit this past April. We caught an early morning train from London to beat the peak period, which helped us avoid paying too much for the punt. We were lucky that the morning weather was beautiful before it started raining in the afternoon. Overall, it was an impressive experience. Both of us absolutely loved the atmosphere along the riverbanks. If you're traveling as a couple, I highly recommend booking a private punting tour. It gives you much more privacy and the freedom to take photos at your own pace. We actually hadn’t booked in advance and planned to just find a punting company on the spot. We had another operator in mind from online reviews, but we happened to walk past this company, and the salesperson offered us a really good rate, so we went with them. We certainly weren't disappointed, the boat was in better condition, equipped with a table, nicely colored cushions, and even blankets. Our punter was also very attentive, doing a great job explaining the sights and cracking jokes throughout the tour to keep it engaging. However, due to the language barrier, we didn’t quite catch 100% of what he was trying to say.

I had a fantastic time punting with a wonderfully knowledgeable guide. Max clearly knew the history of the surrounding buildings, and had a great sense of humour that kept things light and entertaining throughout. Equal parts informative and fun, I still walked away having learned a lot. Thank you so much Max! Huge appreciation for knowledge sharers. Highly recommend if you want a tour that's as enjoyable as it is interesting. Would happily do it again.

What a wonderful way to spend 50 minutes on the river! Booking was easy a few days before and we opted for an early Monday slot hoping that the river would be quieter. Our punter/guide was James who was a delight, not only did he know all the facts and points of interest along the way but he lent the tour a personal edge. A really comfortable boat and we were lucky to be the only passengers. I would absolutely recommend Rutherfords.
