Shelford Lodge

This is a converted nursing home that needs a major renovation. I stayed here for 2 nights with my kids and won't ever stay again. Saying they do B&B is a stretch worthy of a fantasy film, it consisted of cereal and toast, plus cold baked beans, tomato, hummus, grated cheese and yogurt. No cooked breakfast was available, no fruit juices either. There wasn't even a sink in the kitchen area. I was there 2 nights and never once saw a member of staff. It was self check on and out, keys were left next to a written A4 bit of paper with your name and room number (would have to check if that breaks GDPR). There was a 4' axe left lying in the garden area, not great when this place allows children. The only positive I can think of was that it was fairly quiet. Avoid this place at all costs, you can do so much better for the same price and get a proper breakfast included.

I could give this Hotel zero stars I would the room was not as described on photos completely different. Looks like a homeless person’s room filthy I reported this to management they changed my room still wasn’t correct, but it was somewhere to Stayy and I was gonna take it up with Booking.com which I made a complaint when I was asleep there was banging on my window. I reported this to reception on the contact number and the gentleman came to my door shouting what is your problem And then continuing to shout for the next hour at everybody in our corridor this morning he was extremely rude. We was great for checkout time he was demanding the keys. This has been reported to Booking.com.

The place was very disgusting in all honesty, shower had black mold and yellow....I dont even know what it was.....breakfast was an atrocity with what looked to be olives that were fermenting where they sat. Towels just thrown onto the beds, bathroom smelling worse than a service station due to the extractor not being active, hanger on the tv mounting bracket just left there? It really seems like the staff just dont care.....I do not recommend.

Absolutely disgusting!, dirty,scruffy, we arrived for a 1 night stay and looked at the room and left imediately, the pictures on the website are misleading i accept for a budget price basic fare but this drops way beliw that, avoid at all costs !
