Quiet Waters Caravan Park
Quiet Waters Caravan Park, Manor Lane, Hemingford Abbots, Huntingdon PE28 9AJ, UK
Small riverside park at Hemingford Abbots, around fifteen miles from Cambridge
About Quiet Waters Caravan Park
Quiet Waters sits on the bank of the Great Ouse at Hemingford Abbots, one of Cambridgeshire's prettiest villages, around fifteen miles west of Cambridge. The appeal is in the scale: just twenty touring pitches—eighteen hardstanding—on flat riverside ground, plus nine static holiday caravans sleeping six. It's a place for people who want birdsong and quiet water rather than entertainment programmes, and the toilet and shower block is kept to a notably high standard, with showers included in the pitch fee rather than metered by coin.
Fishing on the river is available from the park, and the Great Ouse here is good for boating. The Ouse Valley Way footpath runs past the gate towards Hemingford Grey and the twelfth-century manor that inspired Lucy Boston's Green Knowe books. The village has a thatched pub, and Houghton Mill, St Ives and Grafham Water are all within a short drive. For Cambridge, the A14 runs directly east, or pick up the guided busway at St Ives and travel in without driving.

We were looking for a nice quiet caravan site and Quiet Waters Caravan Park fits the bill perfectly. The caravan was spotless and spot on! The camp site was very suitable for us as it is very quiet and peaceful - that peaceful we were looking forward to hearing the chimes of the church clock on the hour. The owners of the site are extremely helpful 12 out of 10 - hope to be back very soon.

This is our first season on a seasonal pitch here at quiet waters. We have been really welcomed by Linda and Tony whom keep this site immaculately clean. The on site toilet /shower block is always spotless, and hot water is always on tap. Quiet waters is exactly how to market this site, the managers take great pride in maintaining this. The static caravans are well equipped, extremely clean and are in great positions to access the river. The local areas have great pubs, fabulous walks and cycle routes . Thank you Linda and Tony for making this place a great site and allowing us to chill in a fabulous place.

Had a lovely stay here for three nights. Very quiet place, grounds are kept in good condition, facilities are very clean E.G. toilets and shower block. Very friendly owners. There's a pub 2 minutes walk from entrance that do food. I did hear that next year it might be a residential site as part of it is already so best to check if thinking of going next year. Nice drive into St. Ives or walk along the river and through fields.
