Can't say I was impressed, when I got there Ciaran promptly kept me in the hall projecting their political views onto me (where in his head did he think I'd be interested in this subject) when all I wanted was to go to my room. The room was clean enough albeit dated. The shower room had hair in the plug hole, there was a dirty towel to stand on and the water was only just hot enough. Breakfast was disappointing to say the least and on the 2nd day I sat on a sticky unclean chair, was offered a filthy stained cloth to wipe myself then a dry cloth (we got there eventually with a clean wet cloth), no offer of compensation, not even an apology just a comment about having a difficult Breakfast. One good thing was that he allowed my daughter to park on the drive which was gratefully received and acknowledged. I checked out early and won't be booking to stay here again, was not worth the amount of money I paid for it. Everything seemed very meagre, I got the impression that the owner is a bit tight fisted and only wants to offer the bare minimum basics.

I had an amazing 3 nights at the Carlton. Ciaran was a great host and the place had a proper B&B feel. Breakfast, room and location were all great. Will definitiely be staying again!

Simply amazing, rooms are very nice and beds are very comfy, a 5 minute walk to the center and best hosts ever. 5 stars

Please don’t miss the chance to stay at this lodge. Your host, Ciaran, is one in a million. I hope you get to spend some time with him and that he joins you for breakfast. A wonderful house — warm, very clean, and beautifully kept. The location is outstanding.
