About Crafts Hill Barn

Breakfast at Crafts Hill Barn is a proper spread, and there's an honesty shop on hand for whenever guests fancy something extra without needing to wait for staff. It's a good introduction to a property that pays attention to the small things, from drinks left in the room to a bar for evening use.

This adults-only barn conversion on Oakington Road combines rustic beams and elegant furnishings with modern comforts, including en-suite bathrooms throughout. Outside, the grounds are the real draw: a garden with outdoor seating, a swimming pond, a sauna, and outdoor baths and fire pits dotted about for guests who want to make an evening of it. The atmosphere throughout is calm rather than lively, suited to a quiet break.

Practical extras cover free on-site parking, an electric vehicle charge point, free WiFi, packed lunches for the day ahead, and 24 hour reception with attentive staff. Cambridge itself is close by, and the surrounding area offers golf, fishing, and a choice of pubs and restaurants for those who want to venture out. Laundry service and luggage storage are also available for longer stays.

We had the most wonderful stay at The Cowshed Barn and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better weekend. From the moment we arrived, Jo made us feel so welcome. She is such a lovely host and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. As it was an exceptionally hot weekend, she gave us some great tips on how to keep the cabin cool, which we really appreciated. We were also welcomed with delicious pastries, fresh handpicked strawberries, juice and yoghurt pots – such a thoughtful touch that made us feel at home straight away. Jo also recommended some lovely local shops and restaurants, which were all fantastic suggestions. And of course, a special mention has to go to her adorable dog, who was so friendly and always brightened our day! One of our favourite parts of the stay was the pond. The water was the perfect temperature for a refreshing dip, and there was plenty of space to relax and sunbathe afterwards. It was so peaceful and really added to the whole experience. Everything about our stay was perfect. You can really tell how much care and attention has gone into creating such a beautiful place to stay. We’d give it a 10/10 without hesitation. The only disappointing thing is that we live too far away to make this our regular weekend getaway! We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Cowshed Barn to anyone looking for a relaxing break with outstanding hospitality. Thank you, Jo! We hope to be back one day! -Maria and Kirsty x

We had an incredible time at Crafts Hill Barn! Such a stunning location. Jo is lovely and made sure we had everything we needed (including equipment for the sauna, and some wonderful food baskets - BBQ, pizza oven etc). We loved swimming in the pond and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. We will definitely be back!

My boyfriend and I booked a last minute bank holiday stay in the Wildflower Wagon and it was the most perfect spot. Everything was so well thought out. The outdoor bath was amazing, the Wagon was so comfortable, and it was so peaceful! Jo and Tim provided everything we could’ve needed and more. We had a fire pit each night, with 2 of the bbq packages which had meats from two different farm shops to give us a variety. We are already looking at coming back in the summer so we can have a swim in the pool (it was too cold in the storm)! We’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a break away. We can’t wait to come back for a bath looking at the stars!

My partner and I stayed at the cowshed for 2 nights while in Cambridge for a wedding. It was a lovely place, quiet and charming. The accommodation was very comfortable and the fresh bread + pastries etc. delivered for breakfast were amazing.
