About Holiday Inn Cambridge

A sizeable two-storey modern building on Lakeview Bridge Road, Holiday Inn Cambridge holds 161 rooms and is built very much for practicality, with lift access, air conditioning and family and accessible rooms among the options. Bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms and room service is available, along with laundry service and in-room drinks, though some rooms are better kept than others and maintenance can be a bit hit and miss.

Facilities run to a restaurant, bar and snack bar, with breakfast served each morning and kids' meals and packed lunches available for those on the move. The leisure side is a strong point, with an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna, and a jacuzzi-style hot tub all on site. There's also a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for guests who'd rather sit outside, plus meeting rooms and concierge services for business visitors.

Onward travel is straightforward with on-site parking, though it comes at an extra charge. Nearby, guests can find a golf course, fishing, pubs, restaurants and walking areas, making it a workable base for exploring Cambridge and the surrounding countryside.

We had a very pleasant stay at Holiday Inn. The room was comfortable, and the beds were excellent, providing a very good night’s sleep. The breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay — it was excellent, with a good variety and very good quality. The parking was a paid facility, but after joining the Holiday Inn membership programme, the parking fee was waived, which was a nice benefit. There were a couple of things that could be improved. The hotel is quite far from the historic city centre, so travelling to the main attractions every day required extra time and additional transport costs. Also, the bathroom and toilet facilities looked a little old, with some signs of rust and wear, although they were clean and well maintained. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The comfortable room, great breakfast, and friendly service made it a positive experience, but the location and older bathroom facilities are worth considering.

The family rooms in this Holiday Inn are the best in the country. 2 king-size double beds and double sofa bed. Thats 2 adults plus easily 3 or even 4 kids to a room. The service in in this hotel is impeccable, pool, gym, impressive bar/ relaxation area. You couldn't get better at real value for money. Plus, Cambridge as a location, perfection.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Holiday Inn Cambridge and could not fault a thing. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality from every member of staff was exceptional and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. A special mention must go to Vashida at reception, who is truly an asset to the team. Professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful - she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us. The breakfast team also deserve huge praise. It was honestly one of the best services we have received at any hotel. Every staff member was attentive, polite, and extremely well trained, creating such a relaxed and enjoyable start to the morning. The overall atmosphere, customer service, and attention to detail were outstanding. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cambridge.

Great check-in experience — the staff were super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout. The fresh cookie and Haribo at reception after a long day travelling definitely earned some bonus points as well. The hotel itself feels like a slightly strange mix of modern, refreshed areas alongside parts that are clearly dated and in need of refurbishment. The room was comfortable enough and had all the basic amenities you’d expect, with only a few minor niggles that came down more to personal preference than actual issues. Unfortunately, a few things did bring the overall experience down. The Starbucks espresso machine was broken for the duration of my stay and apparently had been out of service for a while. Due to intolerances, the standard breakfast coffee machine wasn’t suitable for me, which meant going entirely coffee-free for the stay — not ideal. Dinner service in the restaurant was also extremely slow, and a WiFi issue meant I had to stand at the bar while payment was attempted twice before it finally went through. Once the food arrived, the chips were undercooked and most of the meal was under-seasoned. I’m hoping this was simply an off day in the kitchen rather than the normal standard. Breakfast was fairly basic, with limited options for allergy or intolerance requirements, although that unfortunately seems fairly common across many hotels. The catered lunch included with the room hire was similarly limited in choice and quite bland. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible stay by any means, but equally it’s probably not somewhere I’d rush back to anytime soon.
