About The Norna
The Norna occupies a terraced Victorian house on Tenison Road, a short walk from Cambridge city centre. Its period frontage gives way inside to a relaxed, homely bed and breakfast rather than a formal hotel, with a small patio for guests to sit outside when the weather allows.
Rooms are en-suite and simply furnished, with family rooms available for those travelling with children, plus drinks provided in the room and free WiFi throughout. A hot breakfast is included, and the atmosphere across the property leans towards comfortable and unfussy rather than polished. Reception is staffed around the clock, which helps with late arrivals or early trains.
Free parking is on offer, a genuine advantage in a city where it's often scarce and expensive. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries sit nearby, along with a golf course and entertainment options, making The Norna a workable base for exploring Cambridge without needing a car once you've arrived.

I found this place while working in Cambridge I had a very hard situation no accommodation and looking for somewhere close to my job. I stayed for a couple of months, and I was amazed at how clean it was. The entire place is spotless and always smells fresh, which made it feel so comfortable. The rooms are modern, well-furnished, and very cozy, and the toilets are always kept perfectly clean, which I really appreciated. It’s well-organized and has a cozy, private atmosphere, almost like a small hotel. The location is perfect, close to the city center and the train station, which made it very convenient. The owner pays attention to every little detail and is always ready to help and made sure to book me in for all the days I needed in Cambridge and managed my stay perfectly, and the house helpers are friendly, hardworking, and always keep everything in top condition. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay here again anytime I’m in Cambridge. Highly recommend the Norna and Orlando!!

The room was okay, but the bathroom was not clean as the bin has several toilet tissues when we arrived. The code system is not very convenient as it take several tries to open the bathroom door. Overall, the soundproof system in the building is very poor as we can hear the neighbours talking and people downstairs banging, which was not a pleasant experience for sleeping. Plus, we got a cold from our stay and we asked to delay our check out time for just an hour as we had high fevers, the hostess just simply replied no which was not the most friendly response. Would not recommend.

Rooms were spacious but bathroom was fitted in within room making it really small and hard to use with comfort. Another confusing policy is parking space. Available till 9am while check out is 10am. Staff was very nice therefore over all stay was pleasant. Good for a night or two but longer stay would make you feel less comfortable.

I had an odd situation where I was moved to Cambridge for work very last minute. I stayed at the Norna for 2 weeks payed for by work before they suddenly decided I had to find somewhere to stay by myself. After looking around, I decided to contact the owner of the Norna to ask if I could stay for a longer period. She was absolutely fabulous and so helpful. Luckily for me, within a day everything was organised for me to stay for longer. She did everything in her power to make sure that I would be comfortable and have everything I needed. Having suddenly moved to a city 4 hours away from my home and everyone that I knew, I really struggled but being able to come back to the Norna, a lovely, warm clean room and a cosy bed in a safe area really was my saving grace. If I had any problems all I had to do was message and I heard back within a few hours if not minutes. Not to mention the location is perfect, a 20 minute walk from city centre and literally around the corner from the train station. Thank you so much for providing a safe, lovely space and making a difficult time in my life feel a whole lot easier. I owe you one.
