About The Tas Suites - Tas Accommodations
For travellers who want straightforward, well-equipped rooms within easy reach of central Cambridge, The Tas Suites on Mill Road is a sensible choice. It suits those visiting for business, a short city break, or simply passing through, rather than guests after a country retreat or elaborate service.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks provided, and access to a kitchen, which makes longer stays or self-catering more manageable. The property runs a 24 hour reception, along with luggage storage, laundry service, room service and concierge support, so practical needs are covered whatever time you arrive or leave. A garden offers a bit of outdoor space, and business services are available for those travelling for work.
Mill Road itself is well placed for exploring Cambridge, with pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries nearby, plus entertainment options and a golf course within reach for those with time to spare. It works well as a base for getting into the city centre and attractions without needing a car, with transport links close at hand.

What guests say
Pros: Good location, about a 15-minute walk to the city centre. Easy self check-in/check-out. Wi-Fi works well. Bed linen was very clean. Cons: The property needs a coat of paint. The walls are really dirty especially in the hallway where people drag their luggage around and the room is also in a bad state. There is no cable TV. I was aware that I would have to share the bathroom. Its still a drawback for me. It was clean at first. After other guests used the shower it got messy with residues left behind. The kitchen sink was always full of water and food leftovers from guests who don't know how to use the stopper properly which causes the drain to clog. The worst parts of my stay. And the reasons I would never go back. Are: 1. I stayed in Room 3 on the floor in the attic for one night. The window is hard to open because of the restaurant next door which has its ventilation outlet and fan right in front of the window. When I arrived the room was filled with haze. Was really hot. There is no air conditioning, a fan that doesn't help much with the heat and smoke from the restaurant. It was uncomfortable to stay. I had to close the window and leave the room door open to get some cleaner air from the hallway but even that wasn't much better. I slept all night with the window closed, in an environment that smelled like food and was only able to open the window early in the morning. I can share a video with the restaurant ventilation right in front of our windows. Booking allows just 4 photos. 2. The second reason I would never go back is that I contacted the property through Booking and WhatsApp to ask for a room but I never got a response, to any of my messages.

We stayed in the attic room. The room is nicely sized, not too small. Its location is central. Very close to the bus stop for buses coming from Stansted Airport. There is a small desk and also a drawer. The room has sufficient lighting. There is a small smart TV. The Wi-Fi signal is good. There is a full-length mirror. The radiator heats very well. Hot water is very good. The bed and pillows are not very comfortable. There is a two-door wardrobe, but it looks like it might tip over because the floor is not level. The room's floor is completely carpeted, but the carpet is very dirty. You need shoes or slippers when you come out of the bathroom and change clothes. (There are no disposable bathroom slippers.) In the bathroom, the silicone sealant on the corners of the shower stall is peeling and moldy. The shower stall ceiling is also moldy. It smells especially musty after showering because the ventilation under the bathroom floor is not working. There is no small shelf in the shower stall to put soap or shampoo on. There is no hanger next to the sink to hang face towels. There is a towel drying rack in the bathroom, I opened the valve but it doesn't work. There is no electrical outlet in the bathroom. Because it is a wooden building, sound easily passes between the rooms. The reception staff are not helpful, friendly, or smiling. They never once asked if I needed anything, if everything was alright, or if I was satisfied.

I really enjoyed my stay here! Some of the reviews are a bit harsh, but this was by far the cheapest and most comfortable accommodation I could find while travelling during May Ball season. The reception and cleaning staff are so sweet, helpful and welcoming 🙏 The kitchen and washing machine was quite handy and a fan in the room during the summer was a nice touch too! Kept me nice and cool. I was in room 3. Great storage for clothes. Lots of sockets. Perfect for me! There were some burn stains or something on the carpet but the room was clean and comfortable 👌 Location is great. Close to city, charity shops and a beautiful park. Tasty food everywhere! Co op and Tesco express close by. Few dodgy characters around but nothing I'm not used to back home! The only downside was I had no idea there was a £150 deposit on the room until I arrived but the receptionist was nice and able to sort me out 🙈 All in all I'd definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Stayed here for two nights last weekend for my hen do, and unfortunately it was a really disappointing experience. One of the rooms had a swarm of large flies that came through the bathroom vent and completely took over the space. The “fire doors” on each room have a big gap at the bottom, so the flies spread into the lobby and hovered around other guests’ doors. We had to put blankets at the bottom of our doors to stop them from coming in. The issue was reported to staff on the first morning, but even when we returned that evening, nothing had been done to resolve it, nor was my friend offered another room. Because of this, she couldn’t sleep in her room at all. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
